patroche
just installed the 10.5.5 combo update with vanilla kernel, on an asus P5KR mobo (ICH9R chipset) at boot i get the following error messages: disk0s2: ioctl(_IOW,'d',31,32) is unsupported. disk0s3: ioctl(_IOW,'d',31,32) is unsupported. both several times System boots up and works, however, i suspect i'll have some performance issues writing/reading data to harddisk. Does anyone have a clue what this is about? thx in advance.
Volcacius
Is your kernel version 9.5 or 9.5.1 (the one that usually cause this error)?
patroche
thanks for replying! my kernel version is 9.5.1, atelast now i know the source of the problem does this error have any effect on performance?
Volcacius
Yes, i suggest you tu use 9.5.0 vanilla kernel + 9.5.0 system.kext. Anyway, which update did you used? I thought that 9.5.1 was included only in new MBP/MB.
patroche
don't remember the name, used an update with pre-update install file, and post-update install file with many options/fixes. anyway i rolled back to 9.5.0 kernel and it seems fixed!! thanks a lot for resolving this! gawkersucks
Just ran into this as well, going to use the Mysticus C* post patcher to go to the 9.5.0 kernel, which is where I got the 9.5.1 kernel from.
paduck
Just ran into this as well, going to use the Mysticus C* post patcher to go to the 9.5.0 kernel, which is where I got the 9.5.1 kernel from. I'm having this problem with the 9.7 & 9.8 kernel. Should I go back to the 9.5 kernel? Will there be any other problems?
