Hi, my audio don't work. My motherboard is ECS A780GM-A Ultra, with SigmaTel 92HD206X Codec.

My codec_dump.txt

Codec: SigmaTel 92HD206X
Address: 0
Function Id: 0x1
Vendor Id: 0x83847645
Subsystem Id: 0x10192816
Revision Id: 0x100402

And in AppleHDA > B0761D11 to 45768483
info.plist > 2206496325
Controller plist > 0x43831002
PinOuts (configdata) > <00A71C1F 00A71D40 00A71E21 00A71F02 00B71C20 00B71D90 00B71EA1 00B71F02 00C71C21 00C71D90 00C71EA1 00C71F01 00D71C10 00D71D40 00D71E11 00D71F01 00E71C22 00E71D30 00E71E81 00E71F01 00F71C12 00F71D10 00F71E11 00F71F01 01071C11 01071D60 01071E11 01071F01 01171C14 01171D20 01171E11 01171F01 01271C2E 01271D01 01271E33 01271F90 02171CA0 02171D11 02171E45 02171F01 02271CF1 02271D00 02271EF0 02271F40>

But don't work. Dont appear the volume icon. but in "more info..." says:
Device ID: 0x10192816
Audio ID: 12
Device Available:
Earthphones: Jack 1/8
Mic Extern: Hack 1/8
S/P-DIF Out: Optic

What's wrong?

IDT APPLE HDA PATCH GUIDE

EDIT: NOV 18, 2008

EDIT: Sorry ive been away for very long :(! Looks like the community is making progress! I hope this guide has helped you guys :S i tried my best :P.

EDIT: pin config guide: http://forum.insanel...howtopic=137188

After months of waiting idt sound devices finally work in osx! Use this guide to get your specific codec to work :).

First lets thank AREOS for his work on getting applehda working for idt in general!

Alright lets start first delete your existing applehda.kext from your extensions folder and use the one provided below:

http://rapidshare.co...pleHDA.kext.zip

download and install HDAenabler so AppleHDA will load :)

http://rapidshare.co...nabler.kext.zip

now to edit the kext...

Step 1: Codec device id

if your codec is different from the one provided by AREOS you must adjust the applehda binary, the controller plist and the platform plist. to do this you need your specific device id. so once you get your device id compare it with AREOS.

ex. AREOS device id = 0x111D76B0 my device id = 0x111D76B2

now u must convert this hex id to decimal form.

use osx calculator to do so. here is what i got:

ex. AREOS dev id (decimal) = 287143600 my dev id (decimal) = 287143602

Step 2: Edit Binary

ok to edit the apple hda binary u need to first download hexedit (a program for osx to edit binary files).

once you have downloaded hexedit open up your applehda.kext/contents/macos/applehda with it.

in the hex file there are two device ids you have to adjust

search the hex for B0761D11. you should find two instances of these hex numbers.

as you can notice the bytes are flipped ie. B0761D11 = 111D76B0

in the two instances you find in the binary, type in the appropriate device id for your card.

Step 3: Edit Platform Plist

Open AppleHDA.kext/contents/info.plist...

edit codecID so it is the device id (decimal form).

ex. CodecID = 2871433602

Step 4: Edit Controller Plist

Open AppleHDA.kext/contents/plugins/AppleHDAController.kext/contents/info.plist

Edit IOPCIPrimaryMatch with your HD audio controller.
Mine is Intel Audio Controller 0x293e8086

ex. IOPCIPrimaryMatch = 0x293e8086

Under HDAConfigDefault edit the codec id again (decimal form)

ex. CodecID = 2871433602

MAKE SURE TO USE HDAENABLER.KEXT NOT ALCINJECT SO APPLEHDA LOADS! :D

Heres were it can get difficult...

if your loaded applehda doesnt work after this you might have to fill in the ConfigData in your controller plist.

follow this guide: http://forum.insanel...howtopic=137188

wait...i'm really confused...i've installed MULTIPLE things and nothing. i have a HP Pavillion dv4-1125nr running iAtkos v7 (10.5.8). I've tried and tried to no avail? Help?

I was wondering if you would be able to inform us where we need to inject our dev id's in the snow leopard kext?

Can someone help me configure the AppleHDA file? I can't seem to do it right.

My device ID info:

Attached File  windows_screenshot.png   10.98KB   74 downloads

If someone could generate the AppleHDA file for me, I'd appreciate it very much.

Let me know if you need any other configuration details.

Kind regards.

I've been trying to get my IDT card working, and haven't been able to do so. I have tried following many of the guides here including including this one...

Here is my information:
Hp pavilion dv4-1275mx
Snow Leopard 10.6.4
AMD Turion x2 Ultra

Here is some of the info from my codec dump:
Codec: IDT 92HD71B7X
Address: 0
Function Id: 0x1
Vendor Id: 0x111d76b2
Subsystem Id: 0x103c361f
Revision Id: 0x100302

I have tried many voodoohda.kext but only earphones worked, with low quality and I'm hoping I can patch applehda.kext to get the internal speakers working.

This is the information from the application systeminfo

1002;ATI Technologies Inc;4383;SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA);Multimedia controller;Audio device

Did anybody got this model working?

Thank you

I have a Dell Studio 1535 and CANNOT get the sound working! I'm using iATKOS v7 and I've tried using the voodoo sound drivers. didnt work. did a clean install with azalia sound drivers, no good. Clean install again with AppleHDA kext that came on the install disc, still no good. This current install, I did with no sound drivers selected on the install. I've followed all of the directions from page 1 of this guide all the way to page 6. I downloaded kext helper and hex edit to perform the actions for each step and every time I install the new kexts that everyone is providing, kext helper tells me to cross my fingers and reboot, but it never works. I've done it at least 10 different. I've seen a handful of other people on here with Dell Studio laptops and IDT Audio that have successfully gotten it to work so I know its possible. I just dont know what I'm doing wrong!!

Hi all, just like to chip in some help to all those who are trying to get IDT audio. Honesty, the instructions are a little vague, but I do understand what is going on after spending hours and hours reading the guide all over again.

I think it will be helpful to post additional screenshots as to where to find the device ID even though a lot of members did point out the use of x86tools to get the device ID or through Windows. I cannot get anything out from Windows, thus I used the x86tools. But what I got from the output that was related to the audio is this,
HD Audio Controller [8086:293e] (rev 03)

And I believe I failed to get the correct stuff I need to find. since there was nothing close to 0x12345678

I can only guess that my device ID might be 0x8086293e

Gritted my teeth and I proceeded to do the rocket science maths.

At the end of it all, nothing... .... ...

I was going to do the pin config stuff and I followed the guide on how to flip the pin config, searched for it in Windows, and I need to flip 50 sets of those numbers, #@&!!%

At the end of it all, I gave up.

But here's the good news. I got my sound working. And in the most simplest manner ever.. I could not believe it.

Go download multi-beast

Under the advance options, kexts, audio. Go to the Voodoo experimental version and choose the 2nd one. The very very experimental one. Install this one and delete the AppleHDA.kext from the extensions folder or it will kernel panic, as the guide says so.

The instructions in there says, backup the AppleHDA.kext and delete the one in the \systems\library\extensions

After rebooting. WOO HOO>>> I get sound... ;)

Following from the previous post... Got IDT working on ECS board using latest voodoohda beta kext... based on FreeBSD drivers. Use the installer from the download section at http://code.google.com/p/voodoohda/.

Adjust the the settings in the preference pane; use SSE2.

Had crackly sound on previous versions but this one actually works! Finally!

If on AMD (like me), patch the cpuid of the preference panes in system library to get the bar icon working.

My device id is 1002:4383.

Whats the command to get a codec dump from linux/backtrack4? or is this possible in Windows 7/Mac SL?

I go to device manager and I see my IDT audio Codec and my IDT Device... I right click them both, went to details and showed hardware ids but not sure what to do with that or where to go from there... :S :S :S

If this helps anyone, Im on an AMD machine and I got this from Snow Leopard somehow :S
What Do I do? Can someone explain in detail or make one for me? if not please explain and I will gladly do it myself...
