You either have made a small mistake along the way or you need u need your ConfigData. Audio drivers from your ideneb install will not help you. if you want send me your audio info and i can patch it for you or check the one over that you already patched.

Are there any video controllers software for laptops??

Hey I got sound working using AppleHDA.text and VoodooHDA.kext

IDT_Sound.zip there is also a Volume Control Fix in the Zip Along with the Kexts I used. I have not tried the Volume Control fix (Cuz i don't need it) But it might work for you!?!

Okay, so now I have a question.

I'm usin' an Alienware M17x--with Mac OS X installed using iAtkos v7. I followed this guide:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=212102

Yet neither of us can get the sound to work.

However, seem guide seems promising, and I'm pretty sure I have an IDT sound card.

But, how do I figure out the device ID and how do I convert it to hex?

EDIT: Also, how do I "install" HDAEnabler?

@ Finding out if you have IDT and if you do what the ID is:

1. Open Your Applications > Utilities Folder and look for the System Profiler App. Once Opened, Under Hardware Select "Audio (Built In)" Now you should see something like this:

post-538112-1273769527_thumb.png

Now Type that number into the Programmer Mode Calculator (Open Calculator and select View > Programmer) It should look like this:

post-538112-1273769545_thumb.png

Now switch to binary by selecting the "8" below your hex number. Should look like this:

post-538112-1273769749_thumb.png

@ To install Kexts: You must download Kext Helper b7 (Search Google)

If this works for you. System Prefs should look like this:

post-538112-1273769589_thumb.png post-538112-1273769610_thumb.png

And if you cannot get audio working and are running Snow Leopard Try the "IDT_Sound.zip" from a few posts back. That is how i got mine working. (Use Kext Helper)

Hope This Helps!

Hope This Helps!

That's weird as heck because I had gone to system profiler earlier and it said no device detected under "Audio (Build in), now it shows something...

Also, there is no "8" like in the calculator that you showed. At least on mine. The options that are there instead of your numbers are--Hex, Oct, Dec.

I chose Oct and I received the number--2067545571...I'm going to assume that's what I need.

Also, I have Kexthelper now, I'm going to attempt this. I'll get back to you, hopefully it'll work. =)

EDIT: My bad, I just realized it was supposed to be "Dec", so the number I got was: 283036537

Yes, Sorry i forgot to say it would be different within Leopard. I am running Snow Leopard. But good I am glad you found it.

I hope you can have better luck with this then I did. Although I got audio working it was NOT with this patch. But O well.

Have fun!!! And if you need more help you could always PM me

Function Id: 0x1

And in AppleHDA > B0761D11 to 45768483

But don't work. Dont appear the volume icon. but in "more info..." says:

Device ID: 0x10192816

Audio ID: 12

Device Available:

IDT APPLE HDA PATCH GUIDE

EDIT: NOV 18, 2008

EDIT: Sorry ive been away for very long :(! Looks like the community is making progress! I hope this guide has helped you guys :S i tried my best :P.

EDIT: pin config guide: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=137188

After months of waiting idt sound devices finally work in osx! Use this guide to get your specific codec to work :).

First lets thank AREOS for his work on getting applehda working for idt in general!

Alright lets start first delete your existing applehda.kext from your extensions folder and use the one provided below:

http://rapidshare.com/files/156240562/AppleHDA.kext.zip

download and install HDAenabler so AppleHDA will load :)

http://rapidshare.com/files/156340359/HDAEnabler.kext.zip

now to edit the kext...

Step 1: Codec device id

if your codec is different from the one provided by AREOS you must adjust the applehda binary, the controller plist and the platform plist. to do this you need your specific device id. so once you get your device id compare it with AREOS.

ex. AREOS device id = 0x111D76B0 my device id = 0x111D76B2

now u must convert this hex id to decimal form.

use osx calculator to do so. here is what i got:

ex. AREOS dev id (decimal) = 287143600 my dev id (decimal) = 287143602

Step 2: Edit Binary

ok to edit the apple hda binary u need to first download hexedit (a program for osx to edit binary files).

once you have downloaded hexedit open up your applehda.kext/contents/macos/applehda with it.

in the hex file there are two device ids you have to adjust

search the hex for B0761D11. you should find two instances of these hex numbers.

as you can notice the bytes are flipped ie. B0761D11 = 111D76B0

in the two instances you find in the binary, type in the appropriate device id for your card.

Step 3: Edit Platform Plist

Open AppleHDA.kext/contents/info.plist...

edit codecID so it is the device id (decimal form).

ex. CodecID = 2871433602

Step 4: Edit Controller Plist

Open AppleHDA.kext/contents/plugins/AppleHDAController.kext/contents/info.plist

Edit IOPCIPrimaryMatch with your HD audio controller.

Mine is Intel Audio Controller 0x293e8086

ex. IOPCIPrimaryMatch = 0x293e8086

Under HDAConfigDefault edit the codec id again (decimal form)

ex. CodecID = 2871433602

MAKE SURE TO USE HDAENABLER.KEXT NOT ALCINJECT SO APPLEHDA LOADS! :D

Heres were it can get difficult...

if your loaded applehda doesnt work after this you might have to fill in the ConfigData in your controller plist.

follow this guide: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=137188

wait...i'm really confused...i've installed MULTIPLE things and nothing. i have a HP Pavillion dv4-1125nr running iAtkos v7 (10.5.8). I've tried and tried to no avail? Help?

AppleHDA.kext.zip attached AppleHDA.kext I made with instructions by changing device id = 0x111D76B0 my device id = 0x111D76B2

It works fine for my Dell Latitude E6400

Is the kext you listed for leopard or snow leopard?

Can someone help me configure the AppleHDA file? I can't seem to do it right.

My device ID info:

If someone could generate the AppleHDA file for me, I'd appreciate it very much.

Let me know if you need any other configuration details.

Kind regards.

I've been trying to get my IDT card working, and haven't been able to do so. I have tried following many of the guides here including including this one...

Here is my information:

Hp pavilion dv4-1275mx

Snow Leopard 10.6.4

AMD Turion x2 Ultra

Here is some of the info from my codec dump:

Codec: IDT 92HD71B7X

Address: 0

Function Id: 0x1

Vendor Id: 0x111d76b2

Subsystem Id: 0x103c361f

Revision Id: 0x100302

I have tried many voodoohda.kext but only earphones worked, with low quality and I'm hoping I can patch applehda.kext to get the internal speakers working.

This is the information from the application systeminfo

1002;ATI Technologies Inc;4383;SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA);Multimedia controller;Audio device

Did anybody got this model working?

Thank you
