cmoski Posted March 27, 2006 Share Posted March 27, 2006 Hello all, Just wanted to keep you guys informed on the IRC situation; at about 2:00 PM PST, irc.macspeak.net started experiencing sporadic connectivity problems followed by a loss of connectivity. As of 3:27 PST, connectivity and services (chanserv, nickserv, etc) have not been restored. This issue is caused by a faulty router/cut link which we are working to restore. We're working out the issues with the server currently. Germany has been having internet problems since the fiber link went down last week, so that's not helping us. That's backups for you. The conversation didn't have any impact, we resolved that issue soon afterword but a new problem came up that brought us all the way down. All services are unavailable, including IRC, HTTP, etc. There have been further technical problems, and to this effect we are working to restore service to this location soon. I got noticed between rushing around trying to coordinate efforts to get IRC back on its feet & the occasional dips into real life I hadnt had time to read this.. I might have saved myself the bother and aggravation (incidentally it fell to me to placate the character quoted above on several occasions).. as solutions are springing up of which I had not the slightest inkling, and we fully expect to be back with something newer and better very shortly.....
