Configuration, 2nd Opinion...

Hey gang,

I am looking at building my first hacintosh. I'd like any comments on the config itself and especially ease of install.

 

Purpose of this machine is primarily to run Maya, Zbrush, Motionbuilder, FinalCut Pro, Shake, etc.

 

Any comments would be great...thanks

For what you tend to do i'll go for :-

Quad CPU

GA-P35 or GA-P45 mainboard as the success rate are better

HD3870 or 9800GT price / performance ratio (Quadro of FireGL for 3D CAD)

8GB DDR2 would suffice

4x 500GB or 1TB for you data on (RAID 0) ** O/S on different Harddisk

Pioneer DVDRW

 

Just FYI, i'd wait till the new macbooks arrive this Tuesday to know what are the new hardware you can use...
