evolt
I can see all of my external USB drives but I can't save files on it. Is there a mac version of macdrive somewhere? Thanks

bluedragon1971
Anyone? I formated the external HD to mac format but still no luck. Its still orange and won't let me save anything What do you mean by "it's still orange"? You mean the default icon for the drive? Of course it's orange, that is the standard OS X icon for a USB hard drive and doesn't have the first thing to do with writing ability. If you want to have full read-write ability between OS X and Windows (without using MacDrive on Windows), you need to format the drive as FAT32 (OS X cannot write to NTFS). You can do this in Windows if the drive is less than 32GB, or you can do it in OS X's Disk Utility by selecting MS-DOS File System as the volume format. I think it's possible that you didn't do something right when you formatted the drive to HFS if you still can't write to it in OS X.
