blazingangel1986 Posted March 23, 2006 Share Posted March 23, 2006 hi guys sup, i have a problem, a freind of mine just gave me his mac g3 (blue and white) came with a 12 gb hard drive so i yanked that out and installed a 40gb hard drive that i had as a back up drive in my windows machine, i then started up the mac osx installation disk went to the disk utility to partion and format the drive the thing is it never picks up the drive it says gathering information forever? i have no idea what the problem may be can anybody assist me with this Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Macart Posted March 23, 2006 Share Posted March 23, 2006 make sure your drive jumpers are set right either master or cs if its IDE or SCSI Drive0 also check apple sight to see if you have to upgrade your firmware also make sure you have osx for ppc not just intel I have the same mac and it runs osx fine Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
