Thanks I dont think it is "optimized", but... i happened upon an intel binary of blender 2.41, works well, and fast. i used it to make a universal app for Xgrid stuff... here it is: Blender 2.41 Universal EDIT: and, you can trim it down to just the intel version i think... with some tools.. i lost the link for the original... fOZf8
Hey, that rocks, I'll be awaiting Firefox, mPlayer, and particularily VLC (it seems to have some big sluggishness for me with the current version). Cheers!
Colonel
could you make Google Earth universal? EDIT: Unibin of Google Earth was released yesterday!
U.C.
firefox faster will rock man. It is seriuosly slow on my system. VLC too
mikec
As I have said before, just because it was compiled for intel doesn't mean its optimized for a particular type of intel cpu. I'll check out blender. Can't do google earth, as its closed source. I'll look at vobcopy. I'm working on mplayer right now, rewriting some things that are older in it, making use of opcodes for sse3 and other things.

mikec
Thanks BIG TIME Man !!!!!! i will try Blender you posted !!! and thanks for looking into VOBCOPY Peace Haven't built blender yet, I have been looking at its source though. If you have a fully supported video card and sse3 cpu, then I will be able to improve on its rendering. I can still make it work well with sse2 also, but 3 would be nicer. caladan1810
Hi again mikec, I'd really like the BitTorrent client found at http://www.bittorrent.com/ which is opensource or allegedly opensource as it says on their website in the FAQ's if this could be optimised for Intel SSE2 it would be great too. thanks very much Cal. Colonel
I can optimize apps for Intel, too.
belgrano
colonels1020 maybe you can optimize HexEdit. But I think that it should be compiled to Intel before...
Colonel
HexEdit is proving to be quite a challenge. It really doesn't like GCC 4.0 and x86.
belgrano
Well, no biggie then... I just liked it to be Intel optimized. But if the optimization is proving to be time consuming, no problem. After all it's working OK as it is now.
