I finally find a solution to get the sound working on Mac mini with XP.

1st : install the Dell drivers HERE

2nd : plug your speakers jack on the mic plug (yes microphone plug).

And Voilà !

After analyzing the driver and tried to change the jack sensing to the analog line out (because it's blocked to Digital SPDIF), i tried to record something to see if the card was correctly recognized, and i though that if the jack sensing of the sigmatel HD Audio Codec built-in would switch the microphone to line out.

Bingo !

(later i will post a how-to modify settings like EQ dolby etc etc...)

You, sir, are nothing short of a legend! It works brilliantly. Well done. eusa_clap.gif:)

Of course, you would have to figure this out on the same day my optical cable arrives from eBay, wouldn't you!?

BTW, in case anyone misses this step, you'll probably want to remove the original audio drivers before installing these new ones.

It is slightly inconvenient. But right now, this is the only known working method to get analog sound out of the mini. So I'd be pretty glad that sound works in XP, to say the least. If you dont' want to have to switch between ports everytime you switch the OS, get a sound system that has optical input, as optical out works in both OSX and XP using the same port.
