Looks interesting, almost like an nLite of sorts for OS X. Am I correct in that assessment?

nice addition to the OSx86 Community. what a great extensive work STLVNUB!
btw, correct me if i'm wrong, this updater/patcher will "slipstream" say 10.5.5 update package to my retail leopard 10.5.4 dvd installer so i can burn a Mac OS X Install DVD that is version 10.5.5 already?

Yes, it will UPDATE your dvd installer to 10.5.5 as well as make the installed system 10.5.5
Two birds with one stone...
I only have 10.5.0 so now have 10.5.5 version
Please submit any bugs as I said it is BETA.
I should probably add that INSTAHackintosh will ALSO have the capability to generate installer dvd from ANY distro.

I would certainly say its do-able.
Myself, I prefer HD install and USB key for emergencies.
Let me have a play around with it and I'll see what I can do.
May come in handy at that.
OH YEAH its mostly 5-10% my work and 90-95% someone elses.
Just tailored it for the job at hand.
Giving back to the community....

INSTAHackintosh V0.1 Released!!!
Great job STLVNUB !!
One question : do we still need Chameleon EFI or EFI v8 with this INSTAHackintosh ? If we don't , would EFI string work ?
Many thanks to you STLVNUB

This patcher is VERY versatile
Uses DFE-132 but should be able to use EFi-v8 or Chameleon.
YOU decide what to Install and tailor it to YOUR needs. So ANYTHING is possible.
e.g.
If you DON'T put any user packages and start the process you would end up with
A DVD that SHOULD work on a Mac.May need to tweak script to make it bootable though.
Have not had much to do with EFI strings but you should be able too do something
if you are using it now.
You would need to use the approprbiate bootloader package.
Give it a go, just remember to use it on 'cloned' system as still BETA.

Hi STLVNUB,
Thanks a lot for this good project.
I will have to find spare time to look more at scripts.
I was thinking, is it possible to remove the PowerPc code or some un-needed packages from the retail dvd with your installer?
I need to find a way to make an iso that will not be more than 3,7gb of space.
Thanks in advance.
And again, great job.
Josh.

Put it into Custom CustomPKG folder. This will take out the PPC code from System.dmg.
Don't know exactly what it strips out but it does reduce the size.
Depending on how many Updates and CustomPKG's and DVDPackages you
use will determine the size of the iso.
The iso can scale up to 8Gigs so you just have to decide what to include in it.
Why the 3.7 gig limit?, I'd prefer to use the full S/L dvd (or D/L for that matter) myself.
My iso weighs in at 4.38G at the moment.
Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks for this, it save me a lot of time to build my own 132 DVD
I've noticed that when graphics are not supported by an injector or string (during DVD boot or Installed system boot), system or DVD doesn't boot anymore (at least it boot with -f), something i've never enconter with Retail disk + 132 ISO. (tested on my desktop an laptop, nvidia 7900 and 8600)
Also, an interresting point is we can easily mod OSInstall.mpkg from DVDFiles folder, a simple way to customize /Extra's folders (or more pkg) for differents computers.
Very good stuff anyway, it should be a solid base for a potential application...

If you guys want and if STLVNUB agrees then I can make an app based on this for you guys if you want. Should be relatively simple, won't take long. But doesn't matter to me, its your choice if you want me to. I can contain the apps script and resource files within the app for less chance of mistake, and I can implement drag and drop to create the DVD.
Great work on the script BTW.
P.S Even if people want me to I want STLVNUB's permission before I do anything
EDIT: Taking a look at the structure and script it might be a bit harder than I expected but I think I can still do it

This is a derived work from three different sources.
InstaDMG,InstaNBI and some code from Ritalins patchers.
I think it would be great if it had a graphical front end.
GO FOR IT!!!

I find that on first boot on hd it is always best to do a -v -f to rebuild the caches.
Try a -v with dvd to see why it doesn't boot.
As the patcher is COMPLETELY customizable YOU have the power to create what you want.
Lets see what you can do...

I'm thinking along these lines. Was going to attempt it myself.
Use drag and drop to populate BaseOS/BaseUpdates/CustomPKG and DVDpackage folders.
Have two buttons, Build and Make
Press Build button to start INSTAHackintosh.sh, after making System.dmg
it will run DVDMaker.sh as well to MAKE iso.
Press Make button if you just want to re-make the iso.
But its entirely up to you.
Change the script if you like to suit it.
Should be one KickA** app though.
