would you happen to have a copy of the files of your disk? (phlash16 and such) so i can try it on my laptop? i have like 10 different versions and so far none of them work.

Hi mate find crisdisk.rar attached. Contained in it is a howto. Follow it to the letter. The bios contained in it is the latest F.2E bios 30CDF2E.wph (renamed bios.wph) for my DV2621la (DV2500 series). All I know is it works for this particular model of laptop so don't know if it works for any other.

No harm in trying though. Good luck

I got all this info from Illmatic on this forum - many thanks - using link

http://redirectingat.com/?id=292X457&u...postcount%3D378

You will need to use a usb floppy - don't bother trying to get a usb key to work _ i wasted many hours trying this. Or if you do please let me know how.

Good luck

PLEASE NOTICE THIS!

THE BEST WAY TO active the WIFI is to:

PUT the second wifi card on the second minipci port.

so no problem with BIOS or sub id!

Just add some wired antenna (buy on ebay) or connect the installed antenna with cable extension (or weld?)

work out of the box with a broacom!

Are you sure they make extensions? I've been searching ebay & google & my fingers are raw, are you sure they make extensions or did you extend it manually? any finger pointed in the right direction would be greatly apreciated!

I have a dv7-1025nr that had a intel 5100agn & put a Airport extreme AR5008 card in & wish there was a way to edit the bios whitelist somehow, if anyone can figure out a way to use this card in the dv7 series heres the info:

updated Bios link (F.26): http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...093&lang=en

stock intel5100agn h/w id: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4237&SUBSYS_12118086&REV_00

ar5008 hardware id: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0024&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_01

WOW... That is an AWESOME idea. oh, wait. how many laptops have a second port? Mine only has the one. Sorry.. I need a bios mod. Thanks, but no!!

i've tried to put the wifi card in the tv-tuner minipci slot but it only has one antenna and the signal is very bad, can connect to the network only if i'm very very close to the router!

is there any chance to get it working?

I, I've bought the same card on Jan 5th, and face exactly

the same pb w/my HP 6715s, indeed. I'm afraid about re-

the same time didn't found a wifi car EEPROM flash utility,

for this card model !

Have you got some news on your side ?

I have been doing some research on HP DV Series BIOS that do not have the CRC code (F9EB01F8) right before or after the whitelist. Without that code, you can not stop the check of the accepted wifi cards. But what I would like to do is start an effort to custom tailor your BIOS of your system, with the Ven ID, Dev ID, Subsys ID of the card you would like to put into your system. I've found that it is very easy to brick laptops when trying to stop the whitelist all together. So with that said, if you have a HP DV Series BIOS that hasn't been patched (All of them except F.58A and F.29 ;) ) then please post the following information:

1. Your exact DV Series number

2. Your most current BIOS revision

3. Your Model of your stock wireless card and the model of the new card you want to put in

4. Your VEN, DEVICE, SUBSYS ID, of your original and new wifi card

With that information, I can open up the BIOS and usually find the whitelist. At that point I should be able to add in the ven, dev, subsys ID of your new wifi card you want to use.

Note: I suggest that you be familiar with Phoenix Crisis Recovery disc. This is vital because you will be able to recover from a bad flash. Unfortunately HP likes to disable that option through their BIOS on some systems but it can be activated using Phoenix Bios Edit. Once you open up the .WPH file, the windows that automatically open up, there should be one named "BIOS Configuration Parameters". Next there is a drop down list and you need to choose "Multiboot III". On that screen you will see "Boot Fail Recovery". Go ahead and double click in the box under Value next to Boot Fail Recovery. Then go to File and choose Build Bios... should OK and then save.

I would like to get somebody that has done a Crisis Recovery and still needs their BIOS tailored to their wifi card they want to use that is unsupported. Since this is all testing, I can not guarantee it will be successful. I have been researching adding in vens, ids, subsys and its seems to be more realistic than trying to stop the whitelist all together. So if you want me to add in a wifi card for you, you are flashing at your own risk. I have patched 2 HP BIOS, and familiar with HEX editing and HP's BIOS. I would like to start adding in wifi cards to HP DV Series BIOS to start a compiled thread for easy download. I will try to help in any way I can to get your system up and going again in the case the flash is bad.

I need the fix for a dv1660se F.12 bios.

It would be great if you can patch for me the BIOS for my HP DV1660se.

I dumped my current BIOS F.50 into file and it is attached to this message.

Current Wireless card is:

I don't know if any of you are still working on this, but I need some help.

This is not for an OSx86 project, just for a standard Win laptop that belongs to a family member. It has a b/g wireless card and I have a new Intel N wireless card that I'd like to replace the old one with.

I attempted to edit the HEX code and rebuild the BIOS myself using WinHEX and the Phoenix BIOS Editor, and ended up bricking the laptop. Using the Phoenix Recovery tool and a USB floppy drive, I was able to bring it back to life... but I still can't use the new card.

The laptop is a 15" HP DV6604nr (AMD) notebook.

This is the most recent BIOS link:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp52477.exe

(Very odd that they released a new BIOS for a 4 year old laptop... I have no need for the newest BIOS, other than improvements that might have been made, so I don't care if it's an older version. Actually found out, before trying to modify the BIOS for the new WLAN card, that it was running on the original bios from 2007 anyway!)

This is the info for both cards:

Original BroadCom:

vendor: 14 E4

device: 43 11

subsys: 13 74 10 3C

New Intel:

vendor: 80 86

device: 42 2C

subsys: 13 01 80 86

I have a working Phoenix BIOS Recovery disk and USB floppy drive, so I'm not too worried about bricking the laptop again. It's also an old machine that was inexpensive to begin with. I would (of course) love to breath a new bit of life into the machine for the family member, if any of you can shine some light on my situation. Just in case, for some reason I don't get the reply from this board (if there *is* one), my e-mail is prokanda@gmail.com and I would greatly appreciate a heads-up about any answers directed at my message.

I really appreciate any help that can be provided and am thankful for all of the work that you folks have already done on this project. :| Thank you so much!

Also, :) YOU, HP! :D
