Ben Eyre
To Reduce the tearing on a 9550 www.techpowerup.com/bios find the Club3D 9550 Bios file (for 256mb) users it's a 6ns ram open with rad edit, make sure its Set to SDR, and Option 3, not 2, then save the bios and exit then load ATI WinFlash also availbull off the site... tick force, open the bios file, and flash to the card then the Open GL screen saver will run faster, also the tearing is Greatly Reduded at 1280x1024x32 set in the com.apple.Boot.plist, *WARNING* dont not adjust the GPU Core or the Memmory Core, unless you have a working PCI card to Reanimate your 9550.... How ever if you have a NForce 3 Like me, then you need to use Quartz Debug to turn off QE, which then speeds up the graphics on the 9550, Also 9600 Pro (if you flashed your 9550 to a 9600 Pro,) which i had done but it didnt solve the problem I Reckon its the AGP to PCI Bridge thats causeing the QE bottleneck, prehaps JaS could check this out, Itunes Vizulizer is still slow if on a NF3 with the kextloaded......
