i posted a screenshot in the screenshot thread and mentioned i was new to mac just installed it on a hackintosh and they banned me.... 9the only reason they even knew is cause of what i typed, otherwise (as everyone her knows), you cant tell the difference

wow. how petty can you really be?? cause i'm not stupid enough to pay 2-3 times more for apple hardware they ban me?? is my os still not the same MAC in MACthemes??

after the fact, i read it is against their rules to do so but does that justify a ban?? i just signed up that same day a fair warning and edit of my post would have been suffice and i would have stopped. but now i cant wait untill i can come back ima throw it right back in their face..ban me, really i dont care cause i can still surf the site through proxy.

rant over. if i was really mad id just have the whole site hacked to pieces but i wouldnt take away from the community like that, even if they show 0 love back to me. i hate apple fanboys already but i had no idea they were THAT brainwashed.

so that constitutes a straight up ban???. all it was was one word, i type the word hackintosh and bam , banned, i didnt even know. he edited my post to tell me congratulations on the ban so could he not just edit it and warn/pm/infract me??

if you get banned for that then you should get banned for any rule, signature to big, flaming etc. i didnt spread any info on it, nobody even commented on it.

and nobody knows if anybodies software is legit, you can buy a mac with tiger on it and pirate leopard, who really knows??? ive seen way worse, somebody posted a theming program for leopard that cost $15 and several people in the thread were saying they'd just wait till it gets pirated and they didnt get banned?? is that not worse??

and where did you see me shouting??

I moderate in another large forum and the rules are the rules. It's how you maintain control. If you broke a posted forum rule (which all members are instructed to read before they post) I would ban/suspend/warn you in a heartbeat too, based of course on the severity of the infraction. This and any other forum are dictatorships -benevolent dictatorships hopefully, but dictatorships none the less.

You're damn right about the theme you're talking about !

By "shouting", I meant telling that you are using a iHack on that website.

1. Rules are there to be bent and broken. Also, there should be a little room for interpretation and regard to degree of severity. (I think there is a big difference between "I have a hackintosh" and "Go {censored} your mother!" Don't you?)

2. No one reads the rules before they post. Like no one reads the instruction manual to their new car, computer, or game console (although I do)...

3. If you would ban this guy also, you are exactly the kind of person who does not need to be a moderator. You are power hungry, even if it is in such a minimal pathetic position as an unpaid moderator.

4. Forum's should not be dictatorships. A forum is nothing without its users. We generate the foot traffic, therefore driving ad revenues. The logic you and other forum moderators and owners should be regarded as trash. More respect is due to users.

I agree with you.

He didn't say anything offensive and they can warn him not ban him for the first time.

They're just a bunch of a-holes. But bragging about having a hack on an "official" site is likewise unnecessary.

Whatever, you can just create a new user account and get on with your life.

nope cant create new account. ip ban

o ok lol

Bunch of jealous {censored}s

that s it looks like :)

Though i m agree with that ....no need to tell everyone you r using a hack ...

well i just said hackintosh cause everyone else is like here's my set on my macbook/imac/pro or whatever so i felt like telling what i was using, didnt even think it would get me in trouble tho lol wow. i wonder when i go back and just post screenshots without saying its a hack will they ban me since the mod now knows what im using?? lol

tottally agree this is how i feel. it really was not serious enough for a ban. offended no body, did nothing illegal by sayin i have a hackintosh. power hungry indeed

It's only a temporary ban...1 week to be exact. I wouldn't get so worked up over it.

doesnt matter. its the principle of it. besides i need the site for themes cause im jailbreaking a few iphones this week and i prefer macthemes for the best themes

can you use proxy ?

to browse, not to register (gives an error). so its all good as long as the files i need arent attatchments

here's a quick cut&paste job from the macthemes site, in the MacThemes Screenshot Thread:

"Piracy or the depiction of piracy is not tolerated at MacThemes. Screenshots portraying such shall be deleted and the members warned."

yep, somebody is mad. the mod was probably just sour my hack looked better than his real one

Apparently they are cracking down on everyone...trying to clean the place up or something. I saw a guy last night get a one week ban for posting a single smiley in response to a thread.
