midnilux Posted September 12, 2008 Share Posted September 12, 2008 I have been running kalyway 10.5.2 with my 8800GTS fine for a while, I just uograded to an HD4870, it still works fine but I'm stuck with 1024x768 resolution, my monitor is widescreen, how can I enable the widescreen again? lhsa Posted September 12, 2008 Share Posted September 12, 2008 we have the same problem. if you read through some of these posts, it appears that you can manually set the gfx string at "1920x1200x36". i've done that, but it automatically reverts to the closest non-widescreen resolution (1600x1200), but stretched across the screen. if they kept the proper ratio, i could live with it, but the stretched resolution looks awful. does anyone have a solution for properly displaying widescreen resolutions with the vesa driver? otherwise we need real drivers from apple for the 4870. hope you kept your 8800 because it works better with hackintoshes at this time.
