Novious Posted September 11, 2008 Share Posted September 11, 2008 Hey guys and gals. Suspecting that it was probably just going to crash when I installed it, I updated iTunes today. It opened up to let me agree to the licensing and all that, but as I suspected it would do, it crashes whenever I try to open it. I know it's only been out for hours, but does anyone know how to fix this? Just out of curiosity, I have Kalyway 10.5.2 installed on a spare drive. I'm going to update to 10.5.4 using 4minds updater. Cheers all, Plucka Hi Guys, I had the same problem last night - i did the QT and iTunes 8 updates at the time , after restart iTunes crashes - the solution in my case was download and patch the QT and Front Row updates with AMD Software Update .. after install them i have installed the iTunes 8 update from OSX Software Update (since there's nothing to patch with ASU) and all went just fine I don't know why but it works ! Tommy Posted September 13, 2008 Share Posted September 13, 2008 just want to add my problem too, i have JaS 10.5.4 Server. I have upgrade to iTunes 8 first (did not install qt 7.5.5 yet), my box would stay up and running just fine. After upgrade QT to 7.5.5, after reboot, my box would lockup (spining beach ball) after iTunes has been run for some time. I did restart the box again and the whole box became unstable and crash again when having iTunes 8 running for sometime (i did not track how long it would take to lock up). Johnny V Posted September 13, 2008 Share Posted September 13, 2008 One fix I've read was to take out all movies from iTunes and then relaunch iTunes and add a few movies back slowly to find the culprit. Hey all does anyone have a fix for intel machines yet? I have regained use of itunes 7.7.1 and would love to update, but also have a a Kalyway install that runs really well on 10.5.2. Am a bit hesitant to update Kalyway as I have a 7600 GT video card which is not supposed to work well with the kalyway combo update to 10.5.3./4? Anyone have any ideas they would like to share, hopefully it is possible to update to 8 without as much hassle as I had having to reinstall itunes from scratch. kmikase Posted September 16, 2008 Share Posted September 16, 2008 I'm using Leo4Aall 4.1 AMD, as everybody here i have trouble with Itunes 8. I can read everything (CD, Radio) but audio files (MP3,M4A,...) with it. I've done the patch with Marvin's apps but it doesn't change anything. Got Itunes8 and QT without bigger problems. Only thing weird is that when I put on the visualizer, the sound output to my Edirol FA-66 firewire gets distorted and then no sound at all.
