Streamlined XP CD with drivers included?

hi,

Do you think it will be possible to build a custom XP install CD that not only includes the EFI-bootloader trick but also incorporates all the drivers that people are discovering now to work on the MacTels?

It would be great to have just one CD with everything - it would be a matter of just partitioning and putting the CD in the tray. It could be even better: some form of bootable Partition program that partitions, reboots and installs straight away. The only thing left would be to re-install OS X on the other partition.

On the other hand, some kind of ghost image of an installed and working system would be even better, right? One for imac, one for mini, etc. The same trick could be used to "ghost" the image into the machines.

Of course, distributing such an image would be illegal (I am in fact surprised that one hasn't shown up on torrent sites - not that I check, mind you :) - or have you seen it anywhere?

It wouldn't be illegal to compile one for yourself though.

You could probably set one up that requires you to pop in a XP CD during the installation, but the actuall installation itself is handled by your nLite CD. : 2cents:

Great, thanks for the info. I am NOT suggesting this should circulate, but I (and many others!) wuold appreciate step by step instructions to do such a project...

My sources tell me there is an iso file circulating, something like WINXP-SP2 ON INTEL MACS BOOTABLE CD, which I condemn. But how hard would it be to add the drivers to a project similar to that one?
