hi i am new to this forum and to the whole osx86 theme currently i chose to use osx86 for the power it comes with....

(even though the whole OS is based on the BSD kernel)...

i managed to download and burn Kalyway 10.5.1 sse2,sse3 (intel only) and installed it on my machine...

here are my machines specs..

Chipset: Intel® 945GC

CPU: Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 641

Hyper-Threading and Intel EM64T Technology going @ 3.20GHz

ram: 2gb ddr2 667mhz

HDD: 160GB SATA II (7200rpm, 2MB Cache)

Video: Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950

Up to 224MB Shared Video Memory

Intel 10/100 Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 port) wich is integrated with the motherboard...

and i have a second ethernet LAN card wich is a linksys etherfast PCI adapter 10/100

my machine has been running windows xp sp2 and i managed to partition the hdd into 2 partitions

using gparted and i installed kalyway 10.5.1

using these prefernces:

bootloader: MBR

drivers -> sound -> azillia_out..

after i restarted my machine the darwin bootloader came up and i selected my osx partition booted it using the

"tohkernel -f -v" and all worked well.....i got sound and everything except for the LAN

now currently i have the LAN cable hooked up with my linksys adapter (since the intel driver doesnt wanna install on my windows partition) and i really need help with getting internet on my osx86 partition..

note:when i booted into osx86 for the first time i checked that "my computer does no connect to the internet"

i am still new to os x and if someone can tell me how to put it on my osx86 partition it would be great

thanks in advance.. :)

if you want to make your life easy, buy the same ethernet card that is in my signature, its natively supported and works perfectly. It was like 10USD

otherwise, your going to have to provide us with your motherboard type and model number, find out the chipset used for ethernet

good job so far

nice but is their another way of doing it...cause buying a new pci adapter is gonna make my machine unstable.. :)

and it is a great find for about 10.00USD.....

and here is the chipset for my linksys adapter:

chipset for v4.0: ADMtek AN985

chipset for v5.0: ADMtek AN985 (rev 17)

For the linksys card, there is an older tiger kext available. SHould work on Leo too. Give it a try. Also try setting the IP Address manually as someone had mentioned about DHCP issues with the Tulip kext on Leo.

Couldnt find a driver for your onboard Intel 82562G Ethernet. keep searching

wow thanks dude i will reply after i manage to install......:)

ok so here's what happened...

i went to "About this MAC -> More Info... -> PCI Cards -> "This computer does not appear to have any PCI cards installed" i dont know why it is not recognizing the PCI ethernet adapter i have it installed although the kext was installed perfectly and everything went well (also i didnt get a Kernel Panic).....is there a program for osx86 ...Kalyway 10.5.1 to be exact wich finds the PCI Card and registers it.....please anyone i really need to get a network connection on this thing...T_T. :(

You should be going into System Preferences-> Network to see if you card is sensed.

About this MAC -> More info works correctly only on a real mac. On a hac the More Info only works for a few options such as ATA, SATA, etc

run the following command in terminal

sudo dmesg >console.txt

this will generate a file called console.txt with all bootup messages. zip it and attach it with your reply here. someone may help you

EDIT: Fount this post which has a modified kext for Linksys LNE100TX. Try the kext from there
