Hi,

My Inspiron 6000 came with a NEC ND-6550A DVD+-RW DL and it is very quiet reading and writing from XP. When using it boot 10.4.4/10.4.5 DVD which is on a DVD+RW disc, while reading it is churning like anything. I'm hearing noice while it churns.

Wonder why?

did anybody have the same issue with the same model or any other make and how did you guys solve it?

Btw, does heavy churning ruin my drive?
