Perfect running condition with clean install of OS X 10.5.4

Basic/Standard Features:

  • 2 x 500Mhz G4 CPUs
  • 4 x 256MB of RAM
  • 40 GB HD (standard 3.5" IDE replaceable)
  • Latest firmware
  • Firewire, USB, modem, Gigabit ethernet, ...)

Upgraded/Enhanced Features:

  • Ati Radeon 9500 Pro (full CI and QE)
  • 4 port USB 2.0 PCI adapter (no drivers needed)
  • Power supply adapter (* See note)
  • LED Apple Logo on disk activity)

* This model uses a non standard power supply that is expensive to buy. ($200-$300).

Included is a commercial adapter so any standard ATX power supply can be used. Currently it's a standard ATX in the machine.

Has standard PCI slots so if you want to add a second ethernet adapter and use for OS X server is possible.

These models are heavy, about 30 pounds. All I ask is $$$ for shipping or you arrange pick up. (Ontario, Canada, N7T 1H8)

Must share my good fortune!!

I picked up an eMac 1.25Ghz 512MB 40GB DVD/CD-RW 17" for 25CHF(Swiss Francs).

It had the famous "capacitor leakage" issue and was claimed to freeze every 15 or so minutes.

I ordered some Caps from England for £8.00 and £4,50 delivery, replaced 8 of them although the forums said only two was needed, I decided to replace all the caps that had the same specs!

Its has been up and running for two days going on three now, with the sleep function set to OFF so it stays on, and it is running 10.5.4!

The Spec sheet says it can be upgraded to 1GB memory but I "lent" some PC3200 1GB modules from a friends P4 PC and it recognised 2GB!

So you do the Math.....

Must share more GOOD fortune!!

(not wanting to rub it in anyone's face!)

a Month ago i bought a G5 case from richardo.ch(our own ebay), it came with:

a Dual CPU Systemboard(the guy said there is a good chance it might still be working, but I have no processors to test it?!)

All the System Fans,

The DVD fittings, HDD cages(with screws),

All the cabling, covers and that nice looking Dual G5 CPU cover!! :D

BUT

The Postal service dropped the unit before they delivered it and bent the case! They then asked the Supplier to replace it with another one! and it arrived here today! So for CHF 130,00(Swiss Francs) I have the base for my new Hack!

PCWiz,

You seem like a nice guy, who tries to help out the community in as many ways as you know how.

But now I hate you. I am sorry, I know it seems frank (because it is). But I hate you. ;)

Cody

Please Note: This is merely out of jealousy you lucky {censored}, and you are still an alright guy in my book...
