noleafclover
ASUS F3Sv. You need the AppleHDA.kext and the ALCinject.kext. You should delete AppleAzalia.kext if you have it. For my notebook I didn't need to modify the Boot.plist, but your notbook may be different, so try both.

izne
@undefined: what model notebook do you have? Is it an F3 series? I've been trying to get audio working on my F3SV (X52S) for the past week, with no luck. I've tried the kexts posted by maxoid and AlexIT (as linked in ant's signature), tried some generic installers that people have said have worked with Realtek chips, but I still can't get any sound output out of the speakers. And now I've tried these kexts and Boot.plist entry, but it's not working either What's the difference between ALC660 and ALC660-vd? Is there a specific notbook that the -vd is found on? i have 0x10431339 which is known to be ALC660-VD the laptop is asus f3e (ap-146c)
rob3r7o
I have now installed iaktos v4 same than ROB3RO who have sound. First step : I delete appleazaliaaudio.kext 2) install with kext helper the twos kexts.. Modify com.apple.plist THE SOUND ICON is not hear and no sound device in sound properties. Her is my device properties in ABOUT THIS MAC : Device ID: 0x10438137 Audio ID: 69 <------------------------THIS IS THE ERROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Available Devices: Hi, You must have Audio ID:12 So, you have to try other alcinject.kext (always with applehda.kext) (The EFI string is the HEX Value of ALCinject.kext. So you don't need to install them togheter. Just one. Try only ALCinject.kext without the Efi) Remeber midi configuration for setting audio at 44000 16 bit or 48000 24 bit. Try My mic is ok only with 44000Hz 16 bit If you still have no sound then you have to try Leopard 10.5.4 Vanilla Kernel

Wiwi
OK, is there someone who have shutdown working here ? Please give your kext installation (Enablers/audio strings...). For me, shutdown never worked with any HDA kext, any dump, any enabler, even with a basically AZALIA kext, sometimes it don't shutdown properly... But it works when audio is disabled... We have to find a solution, another solution than that (that works 60% of time)... I don't know and i don't have time for developing a kext...so if anyone have an idea...???? Also, i haven't mute... snoxu
Tried and tried and could not get this to work on my Asus G1. I even erased an Azalia patcher from taruga and some Azalia backup folder that was lying around...
foxmulder67
bonjour, frenchman sorry, ASUS 51SN is good for all ? webcam ? sound ? 9500mgs ? it'os ok ? thx
Phoenix70
No go for me on the G1 either, I've got the sound identified under system prefrences, though not under About this mac oddly. Everything shows up in system preferences, but nothing works there, all silence. Any thoughts? Oh and of course Azalia was deleted and all of that nonsense, kexts installed using kexthelper etc Edit: Got it recognized in system profiler by using HDAEnabler.kext instead of ALCInject (found on taruga's site, wiki.taruga.net), and now it's reporting DeviceID: 0x10431339 AudioIDl: 12 Tried changing the settings in the midi config to the two recommended ones, that had no effect either. So the same as has been reported, all appears good, but still no sound :/

Wiwi
Ok men, i really need your help, because i haven't vista anymore, just XP, and because we've got similar HDA cards and we need a key from Vista registry Explorer about PinConfig of ACL660/ACL660vd cards to make these working complete (=SHUTDOWN) So please, can you search in your registry the key "PinConfigOverrideVerb" and dump results here ???????? Thanks... This will look like that : (ACL268 dump) Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}000\PinConfigOverrideVerbs] "0000"=hex:f0,1c,27,01 "0001"=hex:11,1d,27,01 "0002"=hex:11,1e,27,01 "0003"=hex:41,1f,27,01 "0004"=hex:f0,1c,37,01 "0005"=hex:11,1d,37,01 "0006"=hex:11,1e,37,01 "0007"=hex:41,1f,37,01 "0008"=hex:1f,1c,47,01 "0009"=hex:10,1d,47,01 "0010"=hex:21,1e,47,01 "0011"=hex:02,1f,47,01 "0012"=hex:10,1c,57,01 "0013"=hex:01,1d,57,01 "0014"=hex:13,1e,57,01 "0015"=hex:99,1f,57,01 "0016"=hex:f0,1c,67,01 "0017"=hex:11,1d,67,01 "0018"=hex:11,1e,67,01 "0019"=hex:41,1f,67,01 "0020"=hex:40,1c,87,01 "0021"=hex:98,1d,87,01 "0022"=hex:a1,1e,87,01 "0023"=hex:02,1f,87,01 "0024"=hex:41,1c,97,01 "0025"=hex:09,1d,97,01 "0026"=hex:a3,1e,97,01 "0027"=hex:99,1f,97,01 "0028"=hex:4e,1c,a7,01 "0029"=hex:30,1d,a7,01 "0030"=hex:81,1e,a7,01 "0031"=hex:02,1f,a7,01 "0032"=hex:f0,1c,c7,01 "0033"=hex:11,1d,c7,01 "0034"=hex:11,1e,c7,01 "0035"=hex:41,1f,c7,01 "0036"=hex:2d,1c,d7,01 "0037"=hex:95,1d,d7,01 "0038"=hex:17,1e,d7,01 "0039"=hex:40,1f,d7,01 "0040"=hex:30,1c,e7,01 "0041"=hex:11,1d,e7,01 "0042"=hex:45,1e,e7,01 "0043"=hex:02,1f,e7,01 "NumVerbs"=hex:2c,00,00,00 That key have to be injected in AppleHDAController's plist file, most of us have a ACL268 or ACL880 PinConfig, that make the OS can't shutdown properly the card... torpie13
Hi there, I've got an Asus F3Jp. and I'm using iAktos 4.1i updated to 10.5.5. And my Codec is Realtek ALC660-VD. First of all, I've deleted the AppleAzilla.kext . The audio drivers I got from this thread works perfectly. The problem is that it works randomly !!!! Let me explain myself: when I boot my 10.5.5, sometime the drivers are loaded, the audio then works right. And sometimes when I boot, the audio isn't working at all. So, at each boot the behaviur of the drivers is different. weired, not ? It's a very annoying situation. BTW to help you helping me, I noticed 2 things perhaps interesting: 1- In the "About this mac/system profiles/Hardware/Audio" : - When I use AppleHDA.kext from kabyl it shows: Device ID: 0x10431339 Audio ID: 12 - When I use ALCinject.kext it shows nothing (ie a blanc panel) Even when the audio works. 2- In the "About this mac/system profiles/Software/Extentions" - When the sound is not working I see (depending which one is used) either ALCinject.kext or the AppleHDA.kext listed in the extentions panel. - When the audio is working ok I dont see neither ALCinject.kext nor AppleHDA.kext listed in the extentions. Off course I dont use ALCinject.kext and AppleHDA.kext at the same time. And AppleAzilla.kext is deleted. 3- My Linux codec dump are telling me this: Codec: Realtek ALC660-VD Address: 0 Vendor Id: 0x10ec0660 Subsystem Id: 0x10430000 Why the Subsystem Id is not the same as the Device ID: 0x10431339 when I use AppleHDA.kext ?? All the files Im talking about are attached to this post (including AppleHDA.kext and my Linux Codec dump). Can you tell me what's wrong ? Can any one have a clue ? I hope I was clear on my problem description Thanx alot for your help ALC660VD.zip
