xtrgt
i get better performance out of my 2600xt over my 3850 512mb, even smoother mkv playback on the 26xt over the 3850 on the last exile drivers.. even xbench results, the 26xt gives better scores.. why ? mitch_de
Forget Xbench OpenGL results !!!! On Xbench i got HIGHER?!?! values on my GMA950 than NV 7600 GT !!?? . Xbench OpenGL is more an CPU/memory bandwidth test). Other Xbench values are OK, valide. WHY: - Window of Test ist much too small and it tests only OpenGL 1.1 features and Test is not optimized since 2 years ! For reallife OpenGL values use OpenGL Extensions Viewer : - full screen - tests OpenGL 1.1 to 2.1 http://www.realtech-vr.com/glview/download.html For Bench: - go in Bench TAB - select highest possible resulution your mon/tft can handle - select Bench option I added my benches of ATI 2600 XT (left pic) and ATI 3850 (right pic) running at 1600x1200/32Bit (BenchMode ON). You should bench yor GPUs as high res as possible (>=1200x800) Dont compare Benches much less than 1200x800 resolutions! The higher the resolution the more its an GPU Bench, the less the resolution (like XXS window of Xbench) the more its an CPU bench / you cant see real performance +/-.
