Hey there, do you think you can make this work for

ATI Radeon X1950 Series:

Chipset Model: ATI Radeon X1950 Series

Type: Display

Bus: AGP

VRAM (Total): 256 MB

Vendor: ATI (0x1002)

Device ID: 0x7280

Revision ID: 0x009b

All the drivers I've tried don't work :D Maybe something has to be changed in order to get this thing working with AGP...

About to try these... Hope they work

I reinstalled 10.5.2, I had 10.5.2 with QE CI working previously, Can't replicate it this time. What I did manage to do was upgrade to 10.5.4, so now I can try these, heh

So far, I tried these: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=39796 and it half worked

It made my menubar entirely transparent. The apple on menubar is invisible. Animations are just as choppy as before =/

What's unclear to me trying different solutions or kexts, is if I need to delete any current kexts, or something else...

Wow it worked! When I restarted, I didn't notice the menubar half transparent. I then opened up dashboard, and it was a lot smoother. I verified with the add-widget animation. It displayed so it was then I knew it worked.

It didn't kick in right awa... the animation had glitches/artifacts. The animation is a smooth ripple, but it looked like it had some cracks on it. I was like, this is the best results so far, I closed dashboard, then the menu bar was transparent! (properly)

I went back to dashboard, the glitches were gone, all smooth now!

I could not be happier, thank you SOOO much!

empty skull, please post an explanation of what you have done to these drivers, as far as I can see they are standard files accompanied by a copy of natit. if they are plist edits, please detail the changes. If they are binary/hex edits, please detail these changes also.

Or sould i invest in a new HD4870 ? i would like to prospone that to next year so that's why i ask. For now thank you for the driver !
