Apple created the App Store, a closed garden of Eden, where apps are approved, digitally signed and DRM-ed. More and more apps are added every day to Apple's repository and most of them work better than their 'hacked' counterparts. There are exceptions of course but Apple's veto process has one big advantage. It guarantees that apps are not malicious. I realize I'm playing the devils advocate, but what the heck...

funny thing is, i would have expected illegal versions of the apps you have to pay for from the appstore to come out through cydia or installer but i haven't seen any. which is fair enough cuz if i was a dev then i'd want some money for my work :D. But now it seems tht the only reason for jailbreaking is customisation... and gpsphone of course... and unlockng the sim... and free versions of openssh and terminal... and the ability to download files... and file converters... and volume and performance tweaks and five icon docks and folder groups and other tweaks...

yh... i don't think it's gonna die...

haha. same situation here :P
