Harloe
Going to be building a new Gaming PC soon, and I will also be using another hard drive inside it to run OSx86 Leopard. Now I know the Logitech G15's features will not work with Mac OS X like the LCD screen notifications and "G-Keys"? My question is: Will the Logitech G15 work under OS X as just your generic keyboard for typing, some volume controls, etc. I'll be using this keyboard under Windows for gaming so I don't wanna have to switch keyboard everytime I fancy working in OSx86! Thanks!
Alucard69
http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/board/...p;message.id=51 ^Post 3 answers your question for the most part. I am using a Logitech Comfort Wireless keyboard, its ergonomic, and it works on my Hackitosh. Let me boot into my MAC part and I will test the volume and media stuff on my keyboard to see if at least those minor things might work. I will be back soon with your answer. Without any special software, my volume up and down and mute all work. In Quicktime, I watched the new Harry Potter Trailer from IGN to test, I can play/pause, skip forward and backward and skip complete rewind and complete forward like last track next track. >>| and |<< I mean. Stop didn't do anything but Quicktime doesn't even have a Stop button on it. Here in a second I will try my suspend button. Buttons that don't work are my 1-4 preset and my calculator button, which in windows I can use the logitech app to assign the 4 presets to open something like the internet etc. The calculator button.....I am not so sure what it does in Windows Alright testing Suspend button right after post. Sweet...the suspend button brings up the "Are you sure you want to Shutdown?" Dialog box with 4 choices, Restart, Sleep "which on my install never wakes but I never have ever used that feature", Cancel, and Shutdown in that order from left to right. As I don't have an eject button on my keyboard I just hold F12 for a second or two and Volia! Disko Ejecto! A word of caution, If I was setting up this Hackitosh and I bought this keyboard and had never used it on Vista I would not be able to get it to work without Windows. Reason is my Comfort Wireless Keyboard has a Secure Connect feature and to use it you first have to Secure Connect it by using the keyboard app that comes with the keyboard or download it from logitech...to my knowledge windows only, I will have to check.... and you type in the keys it ask you to type in right after the initial connection is made. If not the keyboard will connect to the dongle then disconnect with in seconds. I found that out after getting one from my work for free with dongle for busting my butt merchandising "Compusa " and I got home and was mad it didn't work then i looked around to find out what was wrong and I found the an article about it. Well thats enough jibber jabber from me. Good luck with your OSx86 experience. If you have any question that I may be able to answer feel free. I don't really know much though. The program that is used to setup the Secure Connect is Windows only it looks like. Set Point is what it is called. This is the Keyboard I have but I don't have the mouse and even if I did I would not be using it as I have a G5 Battlefield 2142 edition. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keyboard...67&cl=us,en
Harloe
Thank-you very much, Alucard! =] Aslong as it'll work as a regular keyboard in OSx86 and my gaming companion under windows, I'll be happy =P Thanks once again =]
