[idkfa]
Hi, I'm thinking of buying a new graphics card. As the 4850/4870 is not yet supported, I'll go with a 9800GTX+. Are there drivers yet? I tried searching, but I didn't come up with any results. Thanks and greetings, [idkfa]
aqua-mac
As it has the same device id as the standard 9800 GTX (06 12) it should work using GFX strings from the Std 9800 GTX. It does have a different rom layout though to the standard card, so I am not sure how that effects things. The device id is found lower down in the rom than I have seen before and the structure is slightly different. You will have to be the first, or if you cannot afford to take the risk, go with the Std 9800 GTX.
[idkfa]
Thank you for reply. I'm still not sure about buying it; looks like the card is quite long, so it might not fit into my case.

MjP99
Yes! I have the EVGA 9800gtx+ working on my vanilla install. I followed the guide from Aqua-Mac for the 9800gtx found here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=98666 I used the GFX strings method to get full QE/CI. The card works great. MjP99
9800GTX+ is working great. I am dual booting 10.5.4 Vanilla using Boot-132 and Vista. I am actually surprised with how quiet the EVGA card is. All thanks goes to aqua-mac for his instructions. Good look with the Hack build! EGOvoruhk
I've got an EVGA 9800GTX+, and I did a fresh install with JaS' new 10.5.4 release. I selected the NVKush option, and it seemed to work, only I'm getting the white menus and it's only showing 256MB of RAM in the System Profiler Is there a fix for this, or should I do another install without NVKush, and do this: http://aquamac.proboards106.com/index.cgi?...&thread=509 instead? MjP99
Yes, Get rid of any NVinject kexts and use the GFX string method. Works like a charm. M
