Hang on, are you using the wired or wireless model?... Are you using a proper USB 2.0 port. Try changing the port if that works...

You can reset correct file permissions from the Disk Utility...

or here are a few commands ...

Fire up terminal and type these commands...

cd /System/Library/Extensions
chown -R root:wheel *
chmod -R 755 *

Hi, try setting the USB-ports to "legacy enabled/disabled" (BIOS)

Just an idea. Hope that helps.

well I did use mine a few weeks ago with my laptop because of the troubles with 10.5.3/10.5.4 update (no Laptop keyboard) and NOTICED Apple had a firmware update for it....I did install it and it's still working fine.

do you have anything pluged into the 2 usb connectors on the keyboard ?

Good point.

Maybe there's too much powerconsumption by other device.

(max. 500mA per sourceport)

I plugged an optical mouse (Vivanco) into my (white) keyboards usb-ports and both stop working.

Another mouse just worked fine. Same with different usb-sticks.

It is the aluminium firmware update combined with your bios. I had the same problem on an Asus P5K3 Deluxe after I updated the bios and applied the update. The only way round it was to roll back the bios. With the keyboard plugged in the motherboard froze while booting although it worked fine on real macs and had worked fine before I upgraded the bios.
