Hi there

I have recently bought a macbook pro it's my first mac and i am loving it I have been a Windows user for most of my life.

Being a windows user I have to transfer my files across to my mac the main thing is my Itunes music my music collection is years old so this was before uni-code was popular and all the text was encoded in big 5.

Itunes on my Pc would automatically convert the song names to unicode and would be able to view the song names fine.

The problem is when I try to import the music into itunes on my mac by copying from the library on my pc to mac the text does not decode and i get scrambled characters.

I found a solution to fix this which is to change the whole Leopard OS to chinese language which imports the music fine however when I switch the OS back to english and play a song i will scramble the text again.

Is there anyway this can be fixed so that i can have english OS and itunes to automatically decode Big5 characters?

thanks in advance
