Dear community,

upto today I thought that I am pretty much into technical things, so that I am able to follow the

very detailed guides here. But I am stuck for days and I kindly ask you for your help.

I have a new machine at home and first - after working with a DELL XPS 1710 and OSx86 for months -

I want to install 10.5.4 to make this my new "power horse".

Ok, long story cut short: Here is what I have:

- Abit IP35 motherboard

- XFX 9800 GTX 512MB (System profiler is telling me device 0x0621)

- ... (further hardware working flawlessly therefore omitted)

What I did:

1. Kalyway 10.5.2, working afterwards out-of-the-box with graphics issues using vanilla kernel

2. Updated to Kalyway 10.5.3, graphics issues went away

3. Updated to 10.5.4 from Apple, rebooted

Everything is working good now, but I sensed, that QE and Rotation is - according to System profiler -

not working anymore. How do I get them working again?

So I tried to follow the guide vom Aquamac here, but with no success. I messed up my system twice

and edited Info.plist a lot, but never remove this small graphic glitch.

Can anyone just give me a pointer, what to do or where to look?

All my greetings to you, you restless guys here, it is awesome work you do and I have to apologize

for my "stupidity" of not finding the correct answers to my problem. :(

All the best,

So are you trying GFX strings or NVInject? If you used NVInject, did you correctly repair kext permissions then delete Extensions.mkext afterwards. If you have 10.5.4, you do not need to install any special kexts as with 10.5.2. By the way, I think you mean your device id is 0x0612.

I try to use NVInject. I assume, that I didn't repair it correctly, so the easiest way is to call "diskutil repairpermissions /", right?

You are right with the device id!

I try it and come back here.

thanks for the immediate answer, aquamac!
