All,

most hp laptops now bought get the non functional intel 3945 abg card.

and also we all know hp has a whitelist so 3rd party is almost no go unless you know what you are doing....

well i found an solution for all of us stuck with the intel cards!

found an original hp part wich can be ordered online trough the hp part store.

http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/Country_Choice.asp

it's part nr: 441075-002

Broadcom 4311AG Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g mini PCI-E adapter card (Bevo) - 54Mbps data rate, 2.4GHz operating

orderd mine for around 50 euro's from hp online part store and works natively in leopard! without hacking whitelist of flashing card roms.

it's registered in the hp whitelist so no 104 errors. a fuly functional wifi card.

this card is compatible with almost all new hp laptops.

http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/lcl/NL/P...eria=441075-002

check the above list if your hp is in it. if it is you can get the card and have fully functional wifi for around 50 euro's. without the fuzz of hacking.

probably a wrong kext, IO8211Family.kext or AppleAirportBrcm4311.kext get a vanilla version of those here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=I9O7MHMZ

or might e that your pci-e slot is not working in leo. this happens on centain laptops.

then try http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=22362 IOPCIFamily.10.5.2.beta.zip

it's a kext that might activate your pci-e socket.

I will try those kexts and see. I think the slot is working, i boot up with -v and right before os x loads i see something about broadcom but it goes away way to quick for me to read exactly what it says. Does is matter if this is pci-e or minipci? i can't recall what this card is or what my laptop has. All i know right now is it has the intel 3945abg card.

I checked the card I have and the HP part number on it is 407159-001 which yeilds back Mini PCI 802.11b/g HS embedded wireless LAN (WLAN) card with Bluetooth (Broadcom, Most-of-world) Model on card says BCM94311MCG... is this usable or not?

Now the problem is that people don't know if their laptop uses a miniPCI or miniPCIe and buy it based on your recommendations.

This card does work but works as a "Third Party" card which doesn't take advantage of any of the extra Airport features in the apple driver but for most users they will never know the difference.

i state clearly that they must check the manual if there HP laptop is on that list then it will work.

so if people don't read well, i cant help it then if it does not fit right?

third party detection is indeed for most enough cause you can internet.

but if you want all extra features then what's the fun of hackintosh, buy a mac then :(

or an apple pci-e card and hope you can whitelist it to get it working in a hp laptop :)

ok well I put the card back in my laptop and it still doesn't work...i did a fresh install of iatkos 2i and nothing, so i tried replacing the kexts with the vanilla ones you posted and now the laptop just does a kernel panic so not sure what to try next other than just waiting for drivers for the intel 3945abg.

Hi Xenn0X,

today i orderd the Broadcom WIFI Card.

I hope this will work for me

In your signature you have written that your x3100 is working with graphic update ! How do you manage this?

My Card id is:

Vendor: 0x8086

Device: 0x2a02

Revision:0x000c

My 6710b has a resolution of 1600 x 1050

I have tried iatkosv4 Kalyway 10.5.2 and clean bootcd132 with retail DVD update to 10.5.4 but the x3100 is not working.

Can you give me hint how to activate the graphic with QE/CI ?

What kext you are using?

Thank you

sucker00

my hp 6114tx model is not listed there when i search for part and want to order. this confuses me :( can anyone help?

Hi I also have dv6114tx but mine has intel 3945 a/b/g miniPCIe wifi card.

Will the broadcom one work.

It should work because

1. It is in hp whitelist.

2. It has the same interface -mini PCIe as the intel3945 one.

It may however require chamges in the kext, but thus is easy.

Xenn0X what do you say ?

How is the performance ? Any packet drops?

what about windows support ?

and on Leopard is it recognized as Airport ?

I got that Dell 1490 and it works Out_Of_box. totally rocks. wpa2 working and not a single packet drop and i am just crossed 25gb of internet usage too , totally working :(

And did you require any BIOS hacks to red rid of 104 error.

And a quick question since you have the same laptop as mine- did u find any solution to firewire, express card, card reader and webcam on hp 6114tx?
