Here's the specs of my barebones creation:

Manufacturer and Model: Asus ASmobile Z84J

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0 GHz

Memory: 4GB

Ethernet: Yukon Gigabit 88E8056 Singleport Controller (figured out how to get it working in iATKOS 10.5.1)

Hard Drive: Western Digital 160GB SATA (Currently quad-boot XP Home SP3, Vista Home Premium SP1, Linux Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04.1 [within XP], and Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.1 based from iATKOS 1.0 r2)

USB: 4 USB 2.0 ports

My question is related to wi-fi in iATKOS 10.5.1. I have the SMCWUSBS-N wireless USB adapter from SMC. Now though it only supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista, I found a workaround, but not to all avail. This adapter is built around the Ralink chipset currently at version RT2870. So I downloaded the version of that driver compatible with 10.3/4/5, then downloaded and installed that within Leopard, and here's where it gets interesting. After successfully logging in to a hotspot via Wi-Fi (it's recognized as an AirPort connection), I can't browse in Safari. I looked for problems, and it seems that even though the link status in the USBWirelessUtility is superior, throughput status hardly moves a muscle. Is there a way of some kind that I can resolve this problem? Any help is appreciated, and I thank you all for your dedicated time.
