652
Hey guy, ...I could really use your help on this one. So I got the DVD to boot & after a lengthy wait the computer booted from the DVD. The problem is that the display was so bad I could not make out any of the letters. I'm not really sure what it could be. I tried to boot from it again but I get the very same problem. It's hard to make out any of the pictures & letters. I think this might have something to do with my graphics card. I think it might not be compatible with OSX. If anyone has any ideas then please let me know. I did do a google search before I posted here. It was hard to explain this in only a few words. I did not find anything on my problem though. I did read the rules before posting so I assume that my system specs might help. Dell Dimension 3000 I was previously using WindowsXP on this computer & Linux - Ubuntu, I had a dual boot setup. Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.8GHz 2GB RAM Memory 250GB Hard Drive 7,200 RPM CD DVD-/+RW If you need any other information then please just ask.

nintenno
Are you using the integrated graphics? For me, chainging the video settings in BIOS helped. What release are you using btw. Cause ur processor won't support EFI and I feel iatkos 1.0i worked the best.
652
How do I check if my graphics card is integrated with the mother bored or not. I think it is though because I don't have anything plugged into the PCI slot. All I have is an internet PCI plug thingy. I forget what it's called, with the wire that looks like a phone wire but bigger. Anyway, like I have said; I have a "Dell Dimension 3000". I also went to the "Device Manager" & got this information: Intel® 82865G Graphics Controller _____ I hope this helps..
nintenno
ok, its probably integrated. when you turn on your computer, go into the BIOS and change the video settings (i forget which ones) just mess with it and eventually it will work but i would suggest getting a cheap PCI graphics card since yours isnt supported in leo try a nvidia 5200 or 6200; thats what i did what release are you using (i.e Kalyway, iatoks...) 652
How many possibility could there be with the graphics settings & how much is this new graphics card going to cost me? I just checked & I'm using the Kalyway release. What is the difference between (i.e Kalyway, iatoks...)?
nintenno
mine (a 6200) was about $65. Remember to buy a PCI card- not PCIe (PCI express). Since I don't have the machine running right now (I recently upgraded-maybe you should do the same) but in bios there was a couple of settings that had to do with video. But as I said before, that graphics (82865g) is not supported past 10.4.
652
I changed the graphics settings & now it works! Thanks a lot guys, I can see everything now. The picture is crystal clear. I am worried that I may have over clocked my integrated graphics card. There was a thingy, I forgot what it was called but it was set on 1MB & it went all the way up to 8MB. I don't really know what I did but I really hope that, that doesn't damage my system.
