Need Testers for GIMP for Mac with no X11

I just compiled a GIMP for Mac OS X (Intel) for use without having X11

If you don't have X11, this is the GIMP prog for you.

Just install and report back here to say if it worked or not and if not, I will work hard to fix it.

System Requirements:

Intel Mac (NO HACKINTOSH UNTIL IT IS CONFIRMED)

Mac OS X Tiger and up

444mb Free Disk Space

Administrative Privileges

Download: Download Here

New install Directions :

1. Download the Package

2. Install the Package

3. Open disk utility and click repair permissions on your Mac HD

4. Run "Gimp.app"in your applications directory.

NOTE PLEASE READ!!!!

Please do a Time Machine Backup before installing this as this goes into your system files to disable X11 for GIMP. So that means, if you are running a hackintosh, you can't save your computer if it messes it up, sorry. If this does not work and screws up your system, I am terribly sorry, I must have made the installer wrong to may have overwritten some of your system files.

Note: Install at your own risk, I am not to be held responsible if the frameworks within this package overwrite your software.

Q. Why would this ruin my mac?

A. Because this installer installs system files and frameworks in the folder, "opt". Because I am not a professional at making packages, this may happen.

Q. What Languages are included?

A. Just english (that's what I am aware of)

Q. Is it themable?

A. Yes, I have included the themes, Nodoka, Small, and Default. Small and Default are not GUI dependent and have a classic style.

The difference is that this one is re-built with python 2.5 enabled and X11 disabled. It comes with frameworks, and I have another way to update it.

Once I get this working, I will ask for an official forum so I can post updates when they are re-leased.

So basically, this is scripted with python and X11 is disabled.

(Ported From MacPorts)

But, if anyone knows how to make a shell script uninstaller, I could really use that.

Just incase.

New installer :

BTW khaled, did you install Seashore? because that is not GIMP.

http://www.filefactory.com/file/5e5088/n/G...Beta_Update_zip

This is a GUI Beta Update, I am trying to get the Aqua theme on there working.

khaled, I am not experiencing any slowness. Usually only on the first run it is slow.

I ask you all to disable keyboard shortcuts for all your tools by Selecting Each one as "Shift-Control-Z" and clicking "Reassign Shortcut" until there is one left.

:::What's new in this GUI Update?:::

1. Fixed the Progress Bar animation to when you first open "The GIMP"

2. Fixed some GUI issues and added an easy update feature that allows me to distribute update pacakges.

3. Got closer to adding an Aqua theme.
