more sheepshaver angst

Dear all,

Once again, I must humbly proffer my supplication on a matter that is, ultimately, far removed from my own competency. I'm running Classic-on-Intel v.4.0.1 "Chubby Bunny" and want to install a program that requires more than 1.2 gigs of space (1.2 gigs being the largest of the supplied .dmg files that came with the installer).

I created a disc image using the leopard disc utility, which was, as far as I could tell, exactly the same as the supplied .dmg files, except for being larger. However, SheepShaver doesn't recognize the image file when I place it in my Users/shared directory. I've tried many different combinations of mounting/unmounting/restarting/etc., to no avail.

Can anyone tell me why SheepShaver won't recognize the new .dmg file I created, or otherwise suggest a work around in some other direction? The Disk Utility crashes if I try to resize the supplied .dmg file, FWIW.

Thank you (in advance), oh knowledgeable ones.
