kmikaze : According to http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303086 "Connecting an external display is designed to be "plug and play". "

According to other OSX Apple (not hackintosh) forums this is quite not possible and it present a problem for other users also :

see - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?t...31&tstart=0

and - http://macosx.com/forums/hardware-peripher...t-plug-dvi.html

Hot pluging is to me a thing to absolutely avoid.

According to : http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/c...ison_chart.html and to the MacBook Manual : http://comp.ieu.edu.tr/bimeko/web/MacBook.pdf

There is no possible way other than shutting the notebook screen by closing the lid down if you want to work only with one display.

Seems to be not possible but I'm sure there's something to do if you know wich process/daemon is monitoring this DVI thingy. Or maybe even disabling the DVI and enabling when in the need of it.

Thank you zerofil for your help.

Well, yes i try to avoid most of the time hot pluggin, but sometime i forget to unplugged it before going to OS X. Anyway i've selected mirror for the external screen, so i don't have problem with the mouse going on the other screen ;) .

I'm really surprised that apple did do something for the dual screen. Even windows has it working perfectly. In vista, I just close the laptop and the external screen starts at the right resolution 1680*1050)

I have this running on an Asus F8SN (T9300 (cpus=1), 3 GB RAM, 9500m w/512MB) on 10.5.4 with QE/CI enabled. However I am getting jerkey Half Life 2 (Crossover Games) display where on a Mac book with the Intel X3100 it's pretty smooth. Is there an Open GL problem?
