Zotac 7300GT working w/dual displays, no hacking required

I picked up a cheap ($30 shipped from Newegg) Zotac branded GeForce 7300 GT, 256 MEG. To my very pleasant surprise, all it took was NVKush (a variant of NVinject, either will probably work) to get it running with QE and CI, but more importantly, both display outputs worked properly (D-Sub and DVI (using a DVI-Dsub adapter) without any additional messing around. :) I'm still running 10.5.1, but I expect it would still work with 10.5.2 for sure, and probably with 10.5.3 (maybe some tweaking needed.)

So far, this particular card seems like an excellent low-cost option for a dual display system.

I just ordered it too, and they have a ten dollar rebate on it right now until the end of June i believe. I cant wait for my m-hack to work!!!

I'll post how it works on my fresh install of Kalyway 10.5.2!

Hey. just did a fresh kalaway install.

Under system profiler, does your video come up as Graphics by nVidia or does it actually show zotac?

my display shows as Graphics by nVidia and i was wondering if either of you got it working properly.

i used nvinject.

You know, my rig with the 8800GTS says Graphics by nVidia in 10.5.4 instead of 8800GTS...odd!

:)

NVinstaller injects "Graphics by nVidia" with every installation, no matter what the card is. It doesn't affect performance in the least, however - it is purely a cosmetic modification. You simply have to rename that line of code to whatever make and model card you have, it's real easy :P
