Hello everyone and good evening,

I have the following Problem, I'm using an Dell XPS M1330 notebook with Kalyways version of osx86. Now I kinda got a problem, I installed the System today after 3 months of using linux and I kinda realized that it isnt that easy anymore. I updated to 10.5.3 and got everything to work beside the graphic drivers. Is there any guide for the 8400M GS I might have overseen?

From what i read so far am I right that you need the driver files (geforces.bundles) and the NVinject.kext to get it to work? If yes I think I need the correct drivers for 10.5.3 because I already found the NVinject.kexts by reading macgirls guides.

My System has the following spec:

Dell XPS M1330

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2Ghz

Ram: 4 GB Corsair

GFX: Nvidia Gforce 8400M GS <---- Problem ;)

Audio: Integrated Sigmatel STAC9228

WLAN: Dell Truemobile Wireless 1505 mini PCI-E

Thats the guide im following most of the time unluckily i didnt find anything regarding 10.5.3 and the 8400M GS

You did not follow the thread really because Sonotones package work even with 10.5.4, I also said in the thread which kext you need to restore from 10.5.2,

and as other Nvidia owners you need to modify NVinject or use NVkush/Natit that have the proper value in IOProbeScore but if you are using GFX string no nned to modify anything.

THe purpose of restoring some of the 10.5.2 Nvidia kexts is to regain performance because with all 10.5.3 the graphics card is very sluggish

I also have the M1330 with the 8400 and can't seem to get this to work. I'm running 10.6.

I've tried editing the com.apple.boot.plist file and adding the device, as well as many kTexts and also the packages suggested above. Still no luck.

I see other people on the forum have had luck with this video chip on the M1330 but I can't seem to find the secret. Also, some of the techniques discussed were for 10.5.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? My lack of success isn't for lack of trying!
