hi all,

i have successfully installed kalyway 10.5.2 on my hackintosh with no graphic extensions and vanilla 9.2 kernel.

installation was easy and everything works but the screen resolution is blocked at 1024 * 768 which is too low for my 22'' hp display.

i have tried to install everything i found on the net, including nvinstaller42, nvinject0.2.1 and natit for dual cards but seems to be noway to get it properly working.

i had to reinstall osx about 20 times because after installing some new extension it stucks at boot (evenif i "movevideodrivers" or boot in safe mode)

my specs: intel pentium D - 4 gb ram - nvidia 7900 gtx 512 mb - sata 160 hd.

i think it's all about graphic...

i am kinda desperate,please help!!!

thanks

daniele

some some to say...

system profiler says "device id: 0x0290" which is right for nvidia 7900gtx but "vram 256mb" is wrong cause i have 512 mb.

resolution is still freezed @1024*768....(and obviously QE and CI r not available...)

please any hint....!

Read posts about NVinject or go to nvinject.free.fr

Maybe you need to edit kext and modify VRAM and NVCAP

I have a Go 7950 GTX 512 Mb and need some tweaks to have full function.

Another solution consist to modifiy com.apple.Boot.plist and add :

<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1920x1200x32</string>

Where you replace 1920x1200x32 by your resolution.

Hope It will help !

-x is Safe Mode and it doesn't load Geforce drivers then, thats why its working.

On Geforce 7 512MB Cards you have to do it.All you need is here.

apologize me but i still do not understand....before installing the nvinject 3.0 i had resolution blocked at 1024 x768 ;now i installed the packaged and if i boot normally it stucks, if i boot in safe mode i get the right resolution 1680* 1050...

may i need just some software tunig instead of flashing the rom???

thanks

You need Hardware Acceleration (QuartzExtreme), and it will give you the Ability to change Resolutions. Framebuffer works in Safe Mode, but Hardware Acceleration is disabled there. So flash it just.

well i am half the way flashing the bios ;

i followed the link to get nvflash instructions but i found a this line:

nvflash --eraseeprom

which i cannot input, "eraseeprom" does not seem to be a valid argument ....

so i cannot go on...
