Hi!

I have a problem to burn.

When I launch Disk utility to burn DVD, the system says:

This device is busy. Please choose a different one.

srvmac:~ rjc$ drutil info
Vendor Product Rev
PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110D 1.41

  Device Is Busy

srvmac:~ rjc$

If you have any Ideas, they're Welcome

I had that problem, too.

After looking, though, I found that it was Parallels that was using the drive. Parallels may guess that, "Oh, since you are running Windows in here, and you just inserted a disc, you obviously was to use that disc in Windows."

After I told Parallels to "Disconnect" the DVD drive everything was fine.

I hope this helps. Otherwise, I don't know what else to say.

I just had the same problem and this was the solution. I couldn't figure out what was going on, osx wasn't registering a disk in the drive and drutils said:

drutil status

Vendor Product Rev

OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5670S 2AHF

Type: Media Is Busy

Disk Utility said: This device is busy

in the end it was vmware fusion.
