The source for Darwin 8.1 and higher is also available. Both totally legit and free. There is a binary release of Darwin 8.01 that installs & works fine. Before the downfall of opendarwin, there was an update script that took it to 8.1, but I can't find that any more.. any solution for updating the 8.01 install would be useful, I have been unable to find anything of the sort.
