I installed kalyway 10.5.2 and have been having trouble getting the video card up and running completely.

Video card Model is Evga 7300gs 256 mb ddr2

While the display works in the sense I can see things, however I cannot adjust the resolution and dont have qi/ce.

I installed NVinject through the kalyway mac os x install and have been trying a variety of different drivers,(natit, nvkush, different versions of NVinject), I'm left at a black screen on boot.It seems to boot okay,(goes through the entire boot process)

Right now it says on boot:

Loading NVdanv30hal

Loading NVdanv40hal

(something else I cant remember right now)

When I put another driver in, it goes through a longer process of identifying the display...

I am running a AMD x2 3200+, on a M2n-E motherboard.

I was in the same boat as you. I purchased a similar card, the EVGA 7300gt 256 mb thinking that since a nvidia 7300gt card is supported that the EVGA will work. Well, the brand does make a difference. I have tried all the available nvinject files and found only one that worked, however, only in 1024 x 768 with no QE/CI. I wound up buying a PNY 7300gt 256 mb instead since that brand of 7300gt is listed in the compatibility list. I suggest that you go and look in osx86project.org compatibility list and see which grafx card works with what osx86 version.

I think I'm in the same boat as you guys. I got an evga 7200gs card (luckily free after rebate!) that simply refuses to work with any of the NVinstallers I've tried, including versions like .3x, .4x and .5x. I get various issues at boot up, never reaching the desktop. Resolution is set at 1024x768. I can't seem to load the HCL right now, but I do recall seeing other 7200gs cards on there, just not the evga brand. Seems like brand does matter as mattewilliams stated.

The brand doesn't matter your cards are all supported, just follow the installation method correctly and it will work fine.

@lordducky :

both nv30 and nv40 kexts loading cannot be right, you've put your dev ID inside nv30 whereas you shouldn't have.

There are 2 sticky guides about nvidia, one for basic installation, one for NVCAP tuning --> topic closed
