Hello,

after many hours I'm unable to make my ASUS WL-138gV2 wifi card (with Broadcom 4318 chip) fully working. I have done many fresh installs (kalyway, iatkos, leo4all - 10.5.2, and with 10.5.3 combo upd). Still with no luck.

Strange things are happening - fresh install - card recognized correctly, i have to choose wifi network, put in WEP key, and system says - "connection timeout". So i close this window, but in 15 seconds signal shows up in the signal meter in menu bar and card is working. - huh???

I read some posts from owners of this Asus, many of them has connection timeouts, but no one noticed, card is working after closing timeout window.

I have to do this everytime I boot system. Even if I installed updated Broadcom drivers from 'mcsmart' from here - LINK.

Other issue is, that card works very fast with no problems.. but in unexpected intervals, will ping increase rapidly from normal value (10-30ms) to 700-2000ms and connection starts to be unusable and very slow. It happens about every 5 minutes.

Has anyone know solution? Thanks. (other than buy new adapter;-)
