dust'n the callipygous
Here are the current specs: DFI bloodiron 2.4ghz quad-core q6600 8gb ram 500gb hard drive geforce 7300gt (256mb) dvd burner firewire card My question is, will this case/power supply be enough to power everything? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811156062 What if I decide to upgrade my video card down the road, to say an 8800 or add another hard drive? I'm still pretty new at building computers, so I'm not sure how determine the amount of power I'll need.

I'm still pretty new at building computers, so I'm not sure how determine the amount of power I'll need. It's hard to say without knowing more about the power supply itself. 500 watts refers to the maximum power output of the PSU, it says nothing about the quality or stability of the power. I look for PSUs that have Active PFC and a good 12 volt rail. Most devices in your system will require 12v power. From the pix, I can see it outputs 22A on the 12v rail. That seems a bit low given that my Antec Earthwatts EA500 & EA430 both output 34A . You'll hear a lot about power supplies that have two or more 12 volt rails. This is mostly marketing hype. Most of them only have a single 12v rail. In short, your current system requirements aren't all that high, so the raidmax will probably do fine. EDIT: Just looked up reviews of that PSU. Reviews are middling at best: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817152029. There's one that mentions it not having enough power for the guys 8800GT vid card. I wouldn't use it. If you like the case, get yourself a decent power supply. The EA430 is $30 after rebate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...6&Tpk=ea430
