Frequent crashes with intel iMac

Hey,

i have an out of warranty intel iMac that keeps crashing on me. (Apps like Safari and iTunes crash frequently and sometimes even OSX itself crashes)

The Apple hardware test doesn't report any errors, even after running the whole night in loop mode.

Running prime95 in Windows (Boot Camp) doesn't report any errors either and Windows runs stable as well (though i didn't do that much testing under Windows).

Running memtest86+ via BootCamp reports some errors (see attached screenshot), but exchanging the RAM didn't help.

Does anyone know whether memtest86+ can actually be trusted on intel iMacs with EFI and all?

What else could be the cause for the instabilities (i reinstalled OSX after exchanging the RAM so its not a software problem)

Is there a way to trace the problems down to a certain part (i'm sure i could get a replacement cpu or logic board on ebay if i have to, but i'd like to be reasonably sure that it actually fixes my problems before i spend any more money on replacement parts)

Thx in advance

Chris
