musket
Hi, just wanted to let people know that the fairly new 9800gtx works OK with 10.5.1, or at least my copy. All you need is nvinject, i installed nvinject prior to installing the new card, the old card was a 8800gt, it also works very well btw. There is one issue: I cant see any of the drop down menus in osx untill after u sellect somthing, of course then its to late to see what i selected!, if anyone knows what may cause this or how to fix it please reply! cyclonefr
aqua mac, 10.5.3 supports 9800GTX OpenGL Engine without any tweak to force it to 8600 ?
aqua-mac
Hi Cyclone, Yeah, I figured as much as mine is still going fine and all the nv kexts were replaced when I upgraded to 10.5.3. I am pleased as I just upgraded my motherboard to a Asus P5E3 X48 board and this supports both 9800 GTX's at x16 rather than my old board that ran the second at x4. PM!
Is it a bad thing it's still using 8600GTS Open GL engine ? I see in OpenGL Extension Viewer that all the Open GL 3.0 feature aren't supported... EDIT : Fixed with Nvidia9000series_v2 drivers. But part of OpenGL3.0 still not supported.
