jrrjrr
There is a thread that explains how to edit your own machine name into the System Profile display. I'm wondering what names people are thinking up. My Mac is a Dell laptop that I will either list as: Dell MacTel -or- Mac iHack -or- iStole Mac How about the rest of you????? (MoC)
I usually name a machine by model or by some famous person. For example, my server's name is Bonaparte and my desktop's name is simply HP
qbattersby
This is somewhat related, I usually name my hard drives and USB thumb drives as famous women. I have Paris Hilton, Ivanka Trump and a few others. So when my girlfriend asks for a file I have on my USB, I usually call it by name. "Just stick in Ivanka" .... at first she didn't like it, then I named one after her.

Berzerker
What is it then... It's a "soul slayer." What looks like a sword is really the spirit of the soul slayer living inside.

BiliBug
I call mine the "Blackintosh" because I built it in one of the glossy black Antec cases, which seems to nicely contrast the "whiteness" (color, not race) of everything Apple. I stuck one of the white Apple stickers from my iPod on the side. It also rhymes with "hackintosh". My drives/machine name are Doctor Who based: Machine: Timelord Main Drive: Gallifrey Archive drive: Torchwood TimeMachine drive: TARDIS (I couldn't resist the appropriateness of this) I changed my drive icons to match. -B
