I am desperately seeking for help with my PCIe Asus Geforce EN8600GT 256MB dual dvi (2x adapter to VGA) http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=2&l2=6&l3=514&l4=0&model=1626&modelmenu=1

video card as I have been trying to set up my system for OSX 10.5.2 for the past weeks - but was only partly successful.

As I am not very experienced with computers I have been reading a lot about this before I started and I am quite proud that I was able to install OSX at all.... After trying JAS 10.4.8, Kalyway 10.5.2 and iAtkosv1, leo4allv2 (probably didn`t get the setup right because of too many options I have never heard of before) I finally managed to boot and setup leo4allv3.

Sound and Lan are running perfectly, but video is resolution 1024x768 only and only one Monitor is running (on windows xp I have 2 VGA-monitors as extended desktop).

Leopard also doesn`t recognize my SATA HDD (I have 2 IDE HDDs - one for windows xp and one for osx) and video playback with my DVD deck doesn`t work either (maybe also the missing video driver?).

My system specs:

ASROCK 4CORE DUAL SATA2

2GB Ram

2xSamsung 7200 160GB IDE

1xSamsung 500GB SATA (not recognized by OSX)

LG DVD dual layer

Asus geforce EN8600GT 256MB

I have tried everything I was able to (all sorts of nvidia installer packages: NVinstaller v41, insanelymac_Nvidia_Installer_3.0_Beta_Version_by_Punk92, NVidia Universal Installer, 10.5.2 NVkexts+, NVinject) but nothing was successful. They pretend to have successfully installed, but when I reeboot either nothing has changed at all or the system won`t boot anymore.

As I am not familiar with editing kexts (don`t even exactly know what it is) and stuff like that, I need some help from a specialist now. I am tired of setting up Leopard for the 101st time...

Is there any chance for me getting this to work? From all I have read so far it should be working with all resolutions and on both monitors...

I would be very thankful for any suggestion!!!

If you need any specific info please let me know and please be gentle with my little knowlege - I am willing to learn.

Hi Robsin, looks like we have same problem, just I only have one VGA port CRT, I suggest that you best is edit your signature with all your PC's specification, so when they check your post will understand better. I have try install OS more than 5 time at home, same version can work nice in my office, but at home, just didn't work. Wish the best to you and hope can find final way to deal with 8600GT soon!

Hello,

I have the same problem, ASROCK 4CoreDual-SATA2 R2 with Asus EN8600GT, I tried everything...not working. Maybe it is a problem with x4 PCIe speed.

Any solution to this ?
