lord_muad_dib
yeah that's a great advancement in destop management i've tried xgl on my gentoo and i have to say that's impressive speedy and "user friendly" it lacks a bit of "interaction" with other DEs such as KDE or GNOME but there r rooms for improvements in the other hand it's full of bugs and it requires X-org 7 modular(still beta) so it's not that easy to install and configure Great project for sure!!! DrJägermeister
The first live-CD using XGL: http://getkororaa.com/ Works only if you ATI/NVIDIA card is recognised.
TA_Superman
Ubuntu Dapper drake flight 4 is an easy way to get this installed on your hard drive. Practically everything is done for you all you have to do is install nvidia drivers and some libraries and away you go. Check the ubuntu forums for step by step instructions. I am enjoying compiz sweetnes with no crashes, only time it crashes is when i try to change themes.

domino
Here is some extra information: http://en.opensuse.org/Xgl (Wathch the video!) r0ck3r4ever, Are you using Breezy or Dapper? I'm hooked on XGL and Compiz after I saw the movie. I've been researching this the past 2 days but not yet decided what to install. Either SuSE, kubuntu, or Dapper. Have you looked at the best distro for success? I want to install Dapper but I don't want to keep upgrade every Flight release. There is a How-To with installing on kubuntu but it's a bit dry and i'm not in favor of upgrading the disrto online. I already have Ubuntu Breezy up and running the way I want it. I was wondering where you got the complete how-to on installing using you 9600 card.
aldimeneira
Yes. I've heard of it. I'm so interested in it as to plan to make a FOSS project based on it
