gadgetsboyj
Hi! I am new to the Hackintosh scene but know a lot about computers. It was pretty simple getting Leopard on my Dell Inspiron E1705 usng Kalyway 10.5.2. OK, first, my CD drive doesn't seem to be reading correctly and when it did, Leopard said burning was unsupported. Next, I have tried a Western Digital pocket drive and couldn't get it up and running. The USB is fine cause I can fully use a USB printer. Last, I have heard of a hacked driver for the Intel 3945 a/b/g card but the link was broken. Can anyone update me on how iwidarwin is doing? Thanks iin advance! ^_^
Can you state your cd drive product no and maker? it could be unsupported drive? Western Digital pocket drive, is mac compatible? Is it formatted as mac read write format? Is your usb providing enough power for the device? These are a few possible problem in my guess... Yes, providing enough power. For the CD drive straight from System Profiler: Model: SONY DVD+/-RW DW-Q58A Revision: UDS2 Serial Number: Detachable Drive: No Protocol: ATAPI Unit Number: 0 Socket Type: Internal Low Power Polling: No

Does it shows in about system? Disk Utilities? I suggest try reformat the drive to fat and see if osx sees it.

Its broken and I'm gonna call Dell and hopefully they send a new one. I have tried to read and burn in a currently installed copy of ubuntu linux and had no luck. t did however, used to work. I don't need the external hard drive anymore and now only need help with the wireless card. I'll post a link to an ebay listing I found and I just needed to know if anyone has success with a Dell Inspiron with that card.
