Some days ago I installed on my PC (VIA VT8237 Plus, ATI Radeon 9200 Pro 128MB, SATA Hd 160GB, 512MB DRAM 333MHz...) the uphuck OS X version (1.4i - rev.3). Before installing I disconnected my video card and then I connected my CRT monitor (NEC MultySync 3FGe) to the integrated video card. Everything worked out of the box ;) except DVD reading (DVD Player error -70107 or similar), but when I tried to connect my ATI the boot stopped loading loginwindow.app (/System/Library/Core Services/...). After googling around for a lot of time I discoverde that Omni fixed the Callisto drivers to work with my card. So I installed them, connected the card, and then booted my system.

It worked but it was slower than the integrated one ;) . I activated also QE/CI (or what they are...). After 10 minutes the fan started runnning very fast and became very noisy. So I disconnected my Radeon and came here to ask somebody how could I manage to install it to work better (maybe also activating DVD-watching support -_- ).

Thanks in advance and sorry for my english. If you find some mistakes please tell me how to correct them!

If you have hardware QE I shall ask you to tell details.

Make, please, the reports (when 9200 is working!)

ioreg -l -x -w 2048 >ioreg9200.txt

sudo dmesg >dmesg.txt

Zip the files and upload here.

I am sorry but you have no hardware QE/CI as well as hardware OpenGL needed for DVD playback as you have no ATIRadeon8500.kext loaded. Install it! As well as other 8500 stuff.

It very interesting to see that you have dual head Radeon

5940 - with ATY_Alopias driver

5960 - with Callisto driver.

I never counter those combination and have no comment.

Without Radeon you have VIA UniChrome Pro IGP. No any accelerator driver for MacOSX.

...But these KextS were in /System/Library/Extensions with the 9700 ones... Strange...

Dual Head? What does it mean?

... Yes... The Darwin Bootloader said that my card is a P4M800-Pro... but I couldn't enable accelation.

I tried following AGP drivers installation, but it resulted in an unbootable Mac OS X... :(:D ...

I also tried iAtkos v1.0 but it did't worked: the grey apple appeared for less than one second then the computer rebooted... :P Do you know if it's a common problem for a VIA VT8237-Plus?

Thank you very much for all your work? How much dtime did you spend on my Upload?
