E4200 Core2duo, Asus p5b (vanilla), 4gig 800mhz corsair xms2, m-audio delta 1010lt
Cpu is originally 1.8ghz, but I'm running it at 2.83.

Gets me 20 tracks!

Also, recently built a computer using gigabytes ep45-ud3lr, and intel q9550 OC'd to 3.4 ghz. Using an mbox mini it got 32 tracks. Also tried a 16 core mac pro but it only used 8 cores (why?), it got 39 tracks.

76 Tracks. Core i7 920 overclocked to 3.4 ghz.
Can clock it to 4ghz, will try that later..

Think I will be able to run all of the tracks.

Been struggeling with the new Snow Leo for a week or so, managed to get it running using one of these 132 boot disc avaliable. Can´t boot without the disc so far but still. Anyway.... I get about the same amount of tracks as with 10.5.6.

SL seems a bit snappier than good old Leo but for us music folks I don´t know if it´s worth the trouble. The 132 boot disc I´m using actually has some kind og dst.aml or whatever it´s called. So I don´t think if it turnes out we have to go down that track to be able to use SL that´ll gives any better performance than before.

People report that even the new Logic 9 (so far anyway) can´t take full advantage of all the new stuff within SL

Hey guys I did it and got 51 running at 256 latency. It can deal with nearly 65 without overclocking if I hit play with left button mouse not from the beggining of the loop (space bar).

OC can deal with more than 70 as someone said in this post. i7 920 2.66 and GA EX58 UD5 in my case.

If I overclock the system I get glitches in sound. It does not stop but put artifacts within.

Geekbench. 8400. OC to 4.1 GHZ Geekbench is 11500 at 32Bits.13500 at 64 Bits. But no sound stability what so ever...

I will keep on trying to overclock the system to find stability.

Anyone else having those artifacts in sound when overclocking?

56 tracks running on my Asus Z8NA-D6 with 2 Xeons E5520 @ 2,27 with Logic 9.1 and 256 samples

although logic now seems to use the multicores more effective, it looks like higher frequency is more important for
a better score.

On my Intel Q9550s (2.83Ghz quadcore, 12MB cache) - GA-P35-DS3 rev1.1 - 4GB PC6400 DDR2
running 10.6.3

23 tracks

on my HP-DV5 1138tx laptop - Intel P8400 (2.25Ghz dualcore, 3MB cache) - PM45 chipset - 4GB PC6400 DDR2 - On mains power

running 10.6.1

13 tracks

both tests with Digidesign MBox2 - 256 sample buffer.

I want an 8 core now... but Xeons and their RAM are too ex$pensive...

32 tracks @ 32 samples

That's maxing 2/4 audio bars in Logic (8's) cpu meter and showing ~65% cpu usage in activity monitor with no audio dropouts. Shifting windows about and using expose while it's playing has no detrimental effect.

Core i5 750 @ stock, 4 Gb ram, Motu 828 MkII firewire, Asus 5770, 10.6.4, Logic 8.0.2.

I have the i7 930 cpu the Asus P6T SE mobo and 1600 memory but I can´t get up to that many tracks. And on this new I hack I put together I only have Logic Express 9 so I don´t have the Spacedesigner reverb and not even without it I could get over I think it was round 65 tracks.

Edit: cpu running at stock speed
